Champions that are played outside the original intent of the creators
As champions are created and meta and items are constantly shifting, champions are more and more starting to change in their roles. Supports become strong solo laners, junglers are supports, top laners are becoming supports and some junglers, ADC's are going mid and top and sometimes junglers.
One champion that comes to my mind right now, Is Blitzcrank. Just look at his original spotlight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtmMC23DdT0 This is NOT a spotlight for a support champion. Blitzcrank was clearly made to be a damage dealing, disrupting, bruiser fighter-type. And look at the suggested build. Sheen > Tri force > Banshee's Veil > Infinity Edge > Bloodthirster. And if you really look at Blitzcrank's kit.... it's a pretty lousy support kit compared to the other actual support champions.
I'm more-so doing this because I noticed that Riot has often made changes and decisions on certain champions based on their original intent, wanting them to be played in the roles they were supposed to be in. Like some supports that were strong solo lane, but were nerfed to be used more-so as supports. Or Junglers that were super strong in top lane, but were nerfed a bit so they could go back to the jungle. And I'm wondering of certain champions that they've excluded from this rule they've made.
Can you guys list a few champions that aren't being played in the roles they were intended for?
was designed to be a toplaner, and
was designed to be a melee botlaner, or so I am told.
Was designed as a jungler, but ended up working better toplane for a while.
Idem for
who ended up being quite a strong support/toplaner rather than jungler.
is often played mid despite being a toplaner
I know, right?
is the big one that stands out for me. QRR has just taken over her kit to the point that she can't play around her passive or W or E anymore. They need to remove the reset enabling ridiculous burst damage and replace it with a buff on successful QR that requires you to live for several seconds to get the benefit (and/or helps you do so).
, right?
