On the plus side, if you have all the champs 3 champion shards means that you get the next champion immediately without having to spend IP.

if you have all the champions, then there isnt anything else you can spend ip on. what would you be saving them for?

i would be fine if those chests just dropped a 100 orange essence or so instead of a champion shard. or even ward skins and icons.

Chroma skins and temp events often have IP icons. To name a couple.

Ultimately, if you've already bought everything that you're capable of buying with IP, I consider that "finishing" the game in terms of the progression.

God knows how many hours you need to play in the game to buy everything with IP.

i know that but it would be better than nothing.

getting champion shards when you have all champions is literally nothing. im sitting on 200k ip. if i want new champions, i can just straight up buy them or buy 3 champion shards and get the new champion 100% by rerolling them.

summoner icons are usually the consolation prizes anyways.

like id even take 50 orange essence over a champion shard. its at least a skin every 10 boxes with champions in them.

another possibility would be that those chests contain temporary skins that are unlockable for like 3 days or so.

I have 19 champ shards and i could have over 100 if i just bought them with ip. i dont get why i get champ shards when i have all champions and i can buy them if i need them. Worse you get duplicates @_@

Also it would be fair to remove all champion shards from chests if you never want a skin over 975 rp. It's the only way it would even begin to break even for riot
