I don't care what high ELO says, I'm convinced there is no way to stop Yasuo as a mid lane mage.

He can dodge every skillshot with either a dash or a windwall which COMES OUT OF HIM. He's the most gold efficient champion in the game. He'll have 100% crit chance at 15 minutes if he's lucky. He can zone all your minions, meaning you can't rely on them for protection nor stay within auto range of enemy minions without him dashing through them to get to you.

As a mage he outrivals you in every way, shape, and form. I'm constantly pushed against tower until 15 minutes. If the jungle ganks? Well no problem for yasuo, just dash through them, run away, use your shield to negate any damage or CC the jungler does.

Only option is to ban him, and I want to ban ACTUAL COUNTERS to my mid laners, not just Yas who outrivals everyone.

If anyone has ACTUAL tips that make sense, please I would love to hear them, because I feel like I have to either ban Yas or not play mages anymore since he has such a godawful high pickrate.

Cassiopeia and Veigar out-scale.

I was just playing Cass into him and had a very difficult time because he dashed right out of my Q every time I cast it. Was just using E to farm when he kept dashing through all my minions and poking so I couldn't CS properly.

Yeah and her ult has a long ass cast time so he can just dash right through me when I use it. How is Cass good against him?

No way in hell Yasuo beats a decent Cass early to mid game., perhaps you need pick up Yasuo to understand his strength and weaknesses. Sometimes you need to play as a champion in other for you to know how to play against them. You being a crying mouse on boards doesn't do the trick. Best of luck!

Swegmec I wanna back this up. Play yas a few times and get a good feel for his E distance. As Cass if your casting Q where he will end up you will be breaking his passive shield (you should still try to just auto it when you can however) and enjoying a nice MS boost to move around. You can also Miasma to lock him down, Also he cant Wall during dash (not that it matters as her R ignores wall) and its a linear movement that sets up her R for a stun pretty consistently.

Laning phase, no.

Cassiopeia out-scales Yasuo late game, since she is a hyper carry.

Cassiopeia out-scales Yasuo late game, since she is a hyper carry. Cass doesn't outscale Yasuo late game. Regardless, you can make that argument based on the mechanics of the players. What i am trying to say is that, Yasuo is easier to deal with early to mid game as Cassiopeia rather than a late game build when he can 3 shot you if he gets into a 1 vs 1 with a mage. As Cassiopeia, you have a spammable poke to always proc his shield, you have a grounding effect to limit his dash if gets too close, and an ultimate that can stun him if he gets on you.

his q is a laser and can't be blocked by wind wall w and ult go over it so just aim to where his dash will land him and get some free poke

Yasuo is weak this season. I can't stand playing him anymore because I feed where back in season 7 I dominated mid and helped a lot in team fights.

its called bait windwall and stop using your entire kit to clear minion waves. Especially your CC or ability that keeps you alive

You can AA him from afar, make sure his shield stays down. Also while dashing, you know where he is going to end up and what route he is going to take. Not that he isn't frustrating to play against, but hopefully this helps.

His wall has a ~20 second cool down at rank 1, and being that he maxes it last, 99% of the time your CC ability will have a lower cooldown. Once you make him burn his wall, THEN have the jungle gank (preferably from behind), because he Will also have problems dashing away if he has no creeps to dash to, because he can only target enemy creeps. If you make sure his minion wave stays larger, he loses tons of mobility because of this, and is therefore less likely to escape.

About his free shield for walking though, anything, not just abilities, will pop it. so you can always AA it to keep it down. You never specified what specific mages you're playing, but if youre a burst one, don't all in unless the shield is down first early on. If you're an artillery, preferably keep up the pressure with your abilities, but not enough that you run into mana problems. Also his dash is kinda slower then most IMO, so it can be fairly easy to telegraph your skillshots to where he will end up.

Bonus tip: He can't ult you without knocking you up first, or someone else doing it for him. You'll see a visual effect as well as a tone play when his tornado is ready, but as long as you stay out of range of his tornado, his R is useless because he can only hold it about 10 seconds.

I get so giddy anytime I get to face a Yasuo as Orianna. I usually take summoner 21 Just to seal the deal.
