Friendly Reminder: Magic Resistance is a Thing
People in this game often don't bother to build any defensive stats, but what I've been finding is that people have an especially bad blind spot when it comes to magic resistance... to the point that they'll build armor against a fed AP opponent.
Last match,
finished 22/6/8. Here are the MR items our team had:
: +30 MR for
.
&
: +65 MR for
(me).
Our
, who fed her the most and finished 6/14/8, had the following build at the end of a 33:27 match:
.
I had another match where I was a fed
, and I ended up ulting the same guy repeatedly throughout the match, causing him to ask me to please stop in all-chat. I told him time and time again "buy a
" and he never did. I was also on the opposite end of this recently with my team ranting in all-chat about how Malzahar's ult is "OP" or "broken," and going on and on about "that damage" when I was (again) the only one building MR.
TL;DR: If an AP opponent is fed, invest in some damned MR. Heck, if any opponent is fed, particularly your lane opponent, invest in some defensive items. Don't be like that Brand and build straight glass cannon, or berate someone for building defensively when behind (I've had this happen as well).
