Essence Emporium is a trap to get players to buy RP in the future.

Blue Essence is extremly difficult and grindy to obtain. Everything in the emporium looks appealing but wasting the BE you have there will only lead to harder grinds in the future. As mentioned getting BE with the new systrm is extremely long, slow and frustrating, i have no doubt that Riot made this new system like this to entice players into bypassing the grind by buying RP instead. So if you want to save yourself that frustration i would reccomend not dumping your BE into the BE store.

Everything in the emporium looks appealing

Urfwick: It's nice, I'll grant that. Understandably expensive though (only 23k short).

Gemstones: 3 stones for 225k. Reduces RNGesus' influence for getting the gem exclusive skins (Thought not eliminate - still need 10). So I'll grant you this one too.

Emotes: Show off that you have a lot of IP BE to burn. Otherwise pointless. But unlike Icons, you can show them off. So..... Marginal?

Champ Shards: I have all the champs I like. But I guess it's usable for someone who doesn't. Or someone who has them all.

Icons: Already have one I like. Outside mission requirements, I have no reason to use another.

Wards: See Icons.

Chromas: Can't buy them because I never bought the base skins. Which I notice aren't in the BE shop.

Hextech Chests: Well this could be nice. Burn that BE for a chance to get the skin for the chromas. . . . Oh wait; they're still RP only. Why are these in the "Essence Emporium?"

So in total we got. . .

2 nice 2 marginally debatable 2 useless 2 cash grabs.

Here's to all the non-casual old-timers. Who will be able to buy everything but the chests and Chromas. Then probably use none of it.

Just so you know, plenty of champions have Chromas for their base skins. Morgana, Bard, Garen, Blitzcrank, Cassiopeia, Darius, Fizz, Lucian, and Caitlyn all have Chromas for their base skin in the BE Emporium, so you don't need an additional skin to buy them.

You may still not want any of them, just thought you should know they're available, in case you didn't.

I Just looked. Only chromas listed on the Emporium page is Popstar Ahri, Meowkai, and Moo Cow Alistar.

Those are just the featured Chromas. If you go to Store -> Skins -> Chromas and look around, there's a buttload of Chromas available for BE there (I personally just bought, like 20, because I like them). Hope that helps (if you were interested in any of the Chromas)!

If I click on the "Essence Emporium" box, why would it not show everything in the category (And loot boxes which aren't in the category)?

But it even states that the chromas are being sold for BE by clicking skins then chromas. There's no real need to add them all to the shop's landing page.

Too many people don't seem to get the fact the the BE shop was added for older players who actually do have a near limitless amount of BE with nothing to spend it on. It's literally supposed to be a cash dump, where you can buy stuff that essentially is just to show off. They said basically that any time they mentioned the BE shop in a video

It would be nice If the IP Sink (BE Sink) players asked for for so long wasn't little overpriced shit but actual minor rewards that are even in some other games provided by grind currency not real money, such as Chromas or Emotes. But better sell everything for RP because small indie company and then sell something 10x its reasonable prize to pretend there's IP sink. Yay.

I've got 300k. If I bought WW and two gemstones, I'd be broke af. Then I'd be "forced" into buying ip like OP implies. Fortunately, the BE store is a joke and a waste of essence. With the exception of chromas.

yeah but i couldnt get ruby pool party graves or any of the pool party fiora chromas and some others simply because they were newer chromas

Yep and I fell for it. I wanted the Lux Icon, jk got to get pretty much all the other icons except 2 before. So most of my IP is gone, I'm going to be even more stingy going forward. Since it's going to be exponentially harder as you level up to get the champion you want thanks to rng and the system where you get no BE. Good thing I have a small champ pool but that was due to not being able to afford shit before so it's the same again.

I mainly bought champs I didn't have, Mostly the 6300 ones know how hard it is to grind for them. I honestly think most of the emotes and Icons are a waste of BE.

I own all champs and had over 300,000 in BE, spent all of it there. No regrets. So, yeah not really a trap at all.

There is nothing in the store I want. Except for the pearl popstar ahri skin and I cant get it because it requires me to buy the original skin. and pay 290 more IP to get the skin.

The random champion shards are going to save me a lot of BE in the long run.

If you are a relatively new player, I think they will be appropriately scared off by the pricetags. 1350 for a champion generally sounds better than 3k for a random summoner icon.

I've mentioned this to several people and it just seems to go over their head. It's as if I didn't say anything at all. I did splurge a lot and only have about 17000 BE left (8,000 after buying Zoe) but the only thing I care about is having all the champs and my rune pages.

This is semi true. You'd think they'd offer a few nice things compared to what is there if they truely wanted to drain people. Only thing I want is the Morgana icon since it is something I wanted since league began it's sorry life years ago. Likely the best I'll get while league exists.

Then again why toss in a few nice things when large groups of suckers I mean players love crappy icons. Someone posted they bot 25 random icons...

Chromas are alright but default skin chromas should be a mastery unlock to give it purpose.

I don't know, sad times.

See, I was one of those guys that played for a long time but was constantly spending IP along the way. I also bought all of the champs at 3150 and below. So I just blew the majority of my BE on Mystery champions. Eight new champs all for a discount. I’m satisfied. ^.^
