I still don't quite understand why Morde was made to be a bottom lane oriented champion.

Balance aside, what was the reason riot decided to turn him from a midlane mage to a botlane Adc? (I think that's what he is now...?)

Thematically, it seems like a massive jump. It also alienated much of the existing Morde player base (Even more so than all of the other champion reworks).

Also, him being able to capture the dragon seems like it could/should be an ability that belongs to a totally new champ. I'm genuinely curious as to why Mordes rework happened as it did?

They decided that Morde as a champ with no cc or mobility didn't really work healthily as a solo laner.

It actually was something that needed to happen. Because of his absurd weaknesses (and absurd strengths to compensate for them), his kit really wasn't healthy in a solo lane when it was strong. Making him rely on a teammate is a great idea, they just executed it badly.

i actually was happy to see that morde was turned up into a bot laner, relying on his partner. He should have been made arround his W, instead they did him arround his Q making him unfun to play against and unfun to play. Press Q, build triforce, press ghost gg.

because bot lane was only played by ranged champion, so riot gave the green color to certainlyT when he told them to bring morde bot.
