Anyone Else Bored In Burst Metas?
I get why tank metas are so hated on- there's always a small handful of champs that end up being unkillable while also putting up decent damage. That said, I have to say I dislike burst metas even more. Both sides destroy each other so quickly fights are over before they even begin. Either you're dead waiting to respawn, or you've killed your enemy and are just attacking objectives.
I must say I very much enjoy the combat in this game and it's a touch distressing that Riot and a seemingly large percentage of players enjoy playing champions/builds that are so hellbent on destroying their enemy in the blink of an eye. Maybe, at 33 I'm just getting out of touch with the modern gamer. Is the ego trip of instantly blowing your enemy up worth more to them than playing a game with interesting combat? Battles of attrition? A good chase through the jungle? Tower sieges? You barely see those anymore. It's all about catching someone out, deleting them, and taking an objective. Repeat 1-2 more times and game is over, typically in under 30 minutes.
I love the game at it's core, but it really seems like it's being guided in a direction more concerned with players getting cheap dopamine hits from blowing other champions up than anyone actually having a real love for the combat itself.
. Split push all day. That's what is keeping me entertained with league right now to be honest.
