Is There Some Minigame To Waste Support Mana Pool?

For some reason regardless if lane is going well or poorly there are a LOT of ADCs that love to waste Bard shrines. I'd say ~20% of all games love to do this: Either they take it before it matures and losing the double heal, they'll take it when at 97% health, or will take it and immediate B. I mean, yeah if you're about to die and need the heal/speed boost before it matures, take it (please!), but mana isn't an infinite resource! The first time it happens I normally just offer a friendly "you know it heals double if you wait for it to pop?" and they all reply "Yeah, I know." so I can only contend they're trolling or playing some twisted minigame. A couple of times I've just stopped dropping them when the ADC is super blatant about it and instead leave them near camps for the jungler and of course the ADC complains then and calls me petty for not liking my mana wasted?

SMH. Anyone else run into this?

Ya when I play nami the adc thinks i have unlimited mana and takes harass cos she thinks ill just heal her back up, then when i have no mana were fucked in bot

I play Winter Bard, and every time someone walks over my shrine before it is ready I walk back to turret and then type in all caps "DON'T DRINK THE COCOA BEFORE IT IS READY." Not having an active support for about 10 seconds every time they do it tends to get their attention.

If they need the cocoa I will put it directly under them, otherwise they can wait or not get cocoa at all.

Have you considered playing Nami or Sona?

Try pinging them off the shrine if you see them going there at the wrong time and politely remind them not to take it until it matures.

This is the biggest reason why I'm a huge believer that winter wonder bard is the biggest pay to win skin in the game. I spent a long time telling adcs to wait for the shrine to pop, nothing. Got the skin, started saying "wait for the coco to cool" and "a straw appears in the top" and suddenly they started listening. It's hidden op.

Bard main here.

Usually when i get adc who don't understand you need to wait 10 seconds for it to get the max healing it's the same adc who plays poorly and gets me to stop being bot and start roaming so i never have to deal with idiots like these.

Usually i drop 2 shrines for junglers at blue/red buff on the start and top/ adc picks them up and i ping them '?' And they say sorry or w/e.

The even more common thing is i drop first time my shrine in lane andy adc picks it up and i just tell them to wait 10 seconds and they pretty much stop picking it up early.

Pretty much need to be nice and patient with people... Because they usually never saw that shrine ever being placed on the ground and they are curious about it...

But yeah, it's fucking annoying.

Some adcs don't pick it up at all which is far more annoying. They sit with 10% hp next to 3 shrines and don't pick them up.

I remember when it was.. Fun times, mages could actually cast more than 2 rotations before going completely oom. It was so insane mages could have used their spells on minions! those were the days...

im gonna be honest, i am not sure sometimes if the Bard shrine is completed or not. It needs a visiblle timer.

Two games:

Game 1: decent game overall - people are smart, wait for shrines to charge...actually know what they're doing. ADC plays safely enough that I don't have to spam shrines, and can actually roam for my chimes with a solid window. MAD RESPECT from the jungler cause I always left one or two shrines in the red side of his jungle when I went to ward/chime up, well into the end of laning phase. ...we start getting hit with the 3v4 bot, and our Syndra mid literally runs through all of the shrines in the red jungle with full hp, runs in 1v4 after we get wiped, completely ints, and then blames me for not having any shrines in lane for her. (First of all, IM FREAKIN DED!) and the entire next 15 minutes is just the rest of us carrying this Syndra while she flames the absolute hell out of me. (There's always one bad egg...but overall, everyone but the binobo knew what Bard actually did, and that game was actually pretty smooth)

Game 2: Kai'Sa is grabbing literally every relic within 0.5s of me placing it for a tiny heal and INTING into Vayne/Blitzcrank repeatedly. And I mean inting...he literally didn't even need to land his hook to catch her, she would run into MELEE RANGE OF HIM to keep shooting at the Vayne (who was nowhere near dead) time after time...he'd use his E, Vayne would turn, and more often by the time he used his hook he either "stole" the kill, or grabbed a minion through her fresh corpse instead of actually hitting her. She's blaming me for everything, of course, even though she literally is collecting the relics at full health while returning to lane...so I just say "fuck it" and go place all my shrines in the jungle after she reaches 1/5 (the 1 kill was from a jungle gank, and she got it from creeps after she died) and she just goes absolutely ballistic. "QQ You never heal me! QQ You're not supporting me! QQ You don't even help me in fights!" (cant really help you when you're literally OFFERING YOURSELF to a Blitz/Vayne. >.>) So once she's officially 1/7, I just straight up say "Hey Ahri, we're diving mid", end up getting mid and jungle pretty fed, and even though we lost that game, I think at least 6 people reported that damned Kai'Sa... (breathes deeply)

Anyway, I think the biggest issue is that some people just straight up don't understand what Bard does. I'm including Bard players themselves - obviously, if you're always out of lane for chimes, your adc is going to have a bad time - but more to your point are the teammates that just non-chalantly run about expecting you to just be some god tier burst healer...you're not a damn Soraka, and they need to chill.
