Riot puts better players on Red side to compensate "Blue side has map advantage" which is complete bullshit. From person experience, I gather that Riot thinks, a Silver, 3 Golds, and a Plat, is equal to 2 Diamonds, 2 Plats, and a Gold because the Silver and 3 Golds are on Blue side. Does being on Blue side make you have better decision making skills or stronger champions?

They put higher MMR players on Red side to compensate for Blue team advantage. They've done that since Season 1. Blue team statistically has a 55-60% higher win rate than Purple in One-For-All Mirror mode.
