To be fair, urgot's kit makes more sense than Galio's. And is less toxic than Yorick's.

He's not really a bad champion. His ult is just out of place (though it can be extremely strong in 1v1s and skirmishes).

Bârd6 votes

Nah, the ult is the most defining part of his kit. He ain't a marksman, he is a ranged bruiser.

If anything, his E and Passive need to be looked at.

His passive doesn't really need much changes to its gameplay. It's a pure, subtle passive. Just amp up the visuals so that enemies know Urgot has a passive.

His E because it doesn't feel powerful, despite how good it is. Q lockon and BC shred are great, but they don't fix the problems his E has. -20% armor and 295 (+60% bonus AD) physical damage over 5 seconds doesn't feel impactful at all.

I'm sure they'll rework the passive. It's pure invisible power... something RIot hates. Even if it had a clearer visual, it has very little play and no counterplay.

As for his ult... well, he obviously has bruiser elements. But he is typically built very offensively. A low damage Urgot build brings very little to the table. So in full team fights, you really do not want to be in the middle of the enemy team. It's good for picks, but it belongs on a melee tank, not a ranged DPS (even a tanker-than-average DPS).

His ult defines his kit as a tankgot. Swapping with an enemy carry, applying fear to the entire enemy team, and being able to shred their mid laner/second carry.

I've gotten so many kills with his E, it cant have any more damage or it will be OP, since it shreds ALL your armor and allows for lock-on.

Bârd1 votes

Well, 20% at max rank.

Up to 50% with black cleaver.

Certainly a lot.

I've never gotten any kills with E, or really noticed its damage. It's just unnoticable compared to your Q's and autos.

I'm not saying it should do MORE damage. Maybe make the damage tick faster, though (mark/armorpen would last the same duration as now).

I honestly think riot has no idea what to do or what they want out if urgot and thats probably why its taking soo long to work on him. They need first an idea or a projection of what their purpose is for the rework, Urgot might be too complicated seeing as he is a range bruiser with a tanks ult.

I actually was in a game with Meddler while playing Urgot (in ranked, meddler is the main balancing guy at Rito), and I asked him about what he thought of Urgot.

and what did he say ?

No thanks, please don't rework Urgot. It's bad enough Galio is getting reworked next. I'm tired of champions I enjoy getting deleted from the game.

Signed, someone who very much enjoyed old Taric and Yorick.

I love new Taric.

Yeah, new Taric's pretty rad. Doesn't change the fact that he's almost a completely new champion from one of my old favorite supports that was deleted from the game.

That's what makes me laugh the most with these "If you could delete one champ from the game, who would it be" kinda posts. They act like it doesn't already happen. Sure, most of the responses are Yasuo, Riven, Zed, etc. and they're right, it'll never happen to those champs because they have a very high playerbase, but if your champion doesn't have a high playerbase then look the fuck out, because it'll happen eventually.

I could handle Taric, I'm trying to handle Yorick, I'm going to try my damn best to handle Galio, but Urgot is special to me. He was one of the first champs I bought and has remained one of my favorite champs both playstyle and lore/appearance wise to this day. When the day comes that they remove him from the game, if the new champ they replace him with doesn't resemble his old self at all, they'll most likely lose a player. Not like it matters to them though, I don't main Yasuo or Zed so my opinion can eat shit.

Nah, I see where you are coming from. Im a Taric main and had no idea what was going to happen. I mean, I got lucky because I was hoping for a whimsical Cecil Harvey and that's what I got in lore and all. But Urgot is one of those champs that... Who knows what Riot will do?

As to all these rabid Yasuo, Zed, Riven fan bases, you have to remember. Its a Anime Samurai, Evil Ninja and Cloud. Of course they will attract a massive fan base. Personally, I find Yasuos kit annoying, Rivens voice annoying and generally dislike Zed.

OHminus1 votes

Lol. I find Yasuo's voice annoying, Zed's kit annoying, but...

RIVEN JUNGLE MAN!!! Everyone needs to stop being a metaslave and playing her top/mid and just start playing her in the jungle. It's fun and it relieves the pressure of having a lane opponent. I also find that I'm way less likely to get tilted if I do poorly on Riven jungle than when I feed top lane.
