Please keep item sets
They are very helpful for people of all skill levels. When I help new people play the game I have them build item sets and it saves me allot of time when I go shopping, knowing what items are meta and good at the time.

Definitely upvoting this. I understand that a very small amount of players actually use the feature, but a lot of that small population really does love the feature. I doubt it would be too difficult to port over. Please do keep this!
I think it will be difficult, but I need Itemsets, and obviously I have to be able to update them. RIOT pls make an Itemset-editor in the new client
They are keeping the existing sets that you/we the players have made. They are not sure if they are going to allow for them to be created in the new client though. At least anything you made up here transfers over. Sucks as of now we can't modify them but at least we will have the sets we made/currently use :)
from the alpha and from what they said, anyone that can create their own sets can do, but riot wont support native item set creation for a while
tell them to download championify instead. Does the same thing without spending time making item sets in the game.
Riot isn't removing item set support. They're removing the GUI that allows you to make item sets in-game. Every other piece of item set functionality (working with 3rd party apps, dropping them from aggregators into your directory, etc) will still work, and all of your previous item sets will be retained.
They're being kept, just you cannot easily make them anymore.
I believe it was DrCyanide who linked this originally in the New Client post, so I'll credit him, since I was not the one to find this: https://developer.riotgames.com/docs/item-sets
Gives instructions on how to make item sets without the help of the client. It's clumsy and not nearly as intuitive as the Item Set Creator, but hopefully we can survive with it until Riot re-implements the Item Set Creator.
I really like Item Sets too (I have about eighty of them), but I am 100% sure that Riot will release the new Client without the feature. They don't have enough time to implement it with all the other features that they're planning on implementing on release. Since the community has been very vocal about their removal however, I believe that Riot will bump up the priority of implementing the Item Set Creator back into the new client. (I sure hope they do, at least. I don't want to have to code my own item sets, but I would rather have that then nothing at all.)
is still complicated for people without a codding Background
this is the more bare bone version of the code
{ "associatedChampions": [ ], "associatedMaps": [ ], "blocks": [ { "type": "Name Here", "items": [ { "count": 1, "id": "" }
] } ], "isGlobalForChampions": false, "isGlobalForMaps": true, "map": "any", "mode": "any", "priority": false, "sortrank": 4998, "title": "Item Set Name", "type": "custom", "uid": "LOL_7048BA83-6F8F-546B-8524-68A1B1494D34"
"blocks": [ ]
^enclose the whole set
within the[ ] goes
{ "type": "Name of Block Here", "items": [ ] }
^this are the blocks inside the set
within the [ ] goes
{ "count": 1, "id": "Item id" }
^each item on a block
once you get a hold of it, making your own item sets is bothersome but easy, all you need is word and notepad
