PBE: Quinn changes seem kinda scary...

Overall her passive is buffed towards late game but she loses Valor which is pretty huge Like you can tell the difference from a beginning Quinn player and older Quinn player by her decision making when using ultimate and her ability to flank DURING the MIDDLE of a teamfight but with this Quinn seems to become an "annoying" champion, one that just goes to lane and pushes it, flies to next lane and does the same

They increased her waveclear with the Q changes but took away her duelist ability with blind and GREATLY REDUCED the amount of decision making Quinn has by making her ultimate a "Lets move somewhere really fast" ability. Overall in terms of strength maybe Quinn is stronger and maybe she will be successful but this playstyle that I'm theorizing Quinn will have is not enjoyable at all imo and far off from the original Quinn & Valor. However... maybe this playstyle makes sense... she is a "scout" and moving around the map fast would fit that trait... I see her roam potential staying relatively the same in that you get to the enemy but.... once you come into contact with the enemy as Valor you instantly go back to Quinn, her damage potential in these situations may be less as a result but her Q now procs harrier meaning double procs are near 100% and three procs are very likely against squishies.

I understand this is the "Marksmen" update but lets compare these Quinn changes to ANY potential Irelia changes or perhaps to the reason WHY Irelia hasn't been changed. One reason I believe Irelia hasn't been changed is that her playstyle is unique and enjoyable albeit dosen't necessarily match her theme to it's fullest potential. Now I say the current Quinn is very unique and also enjoyable but may not be successful to most players and in general, this unsuccessfulness results in Quinn getting her update changing her overall playstyle. Does she really need a potential playstyle change though???

Well this is PBE so nothing is set in stone but yeah... From a Quinn & Valor DUO(trio lol) LANE carry main

tl;dr Quinn changes seem to make her more passive overall and perhaps comparable to Ziggs in that with her ultimate she can fly around the map killing waves and delaying the game so that other carries can farm up for late game, heck they even suggested her mid lane like Ziggs.... btw we're gonna need a new splashart for Quinn and Valor because the Valor I know dosen't look like he could lift a grown women with armor and weaponry across the fields of justice at insane speeds lol

They should seem scary, they're suggesting destroying the identity of the champion, apparently the new ult gets cancelled by auto attacks, you can't even use it aggressively, how do you go from an ult that gives an on demand attack speed steroid with an execute to a worse version of a Rek'Sai ult and even call it the same champion. Also, why does this keep happening with every champion I play?

you can still use it offensively, just not in sight of an enemy. you can use it to flank a target, or catch fleeing enemies. Use it before a teamfight so you don't get caught out but still be in range to fight when it starts.

You can already do all of that, except it doesn't get cancelled by an auto attack, and you have the ability to fight while it's active and still decide to disengage with it if you need to.

the disengage with her old ult was horrible. if you got hit even once then it was basically over. You all complain that her new R is a weaker reksai ult but let me remind you Reksai can only ult to a tunnel and has a cooldown. Quinn's ult has no cooldown.

The current ult still gives some move speed buff in combat and changes the function of E which makes it much better for use in escapes through the jungle as you can jump to jungle monsters over walls with it without worrying about angling it a certain way, I've made quite a few great escapes this way, ulting and then using E on an enemy that is farther away from the rest and then flashing over them has also allowed me to escape some dangerous situations I would have otherwise died in. With a 2 second channel and being canceled by any form of damage this makes it very unlikely to be usable as an escape. Part of the reason I picked up Quinn in the first place and one of my favorite things about her is the ability to escape situations with overwhelming odds using her ult.

being a hybrid fighter/marksman who usually goes top lane makes her already pretty unique as an adc. i dont really understand why they make such large changes to her.

it would have been enough to change her base stats around to gear her towards a slightly more tanky item build with item 3078 and then item 3053 as a good defensive item to give her a bit more effective health to work with in valor form.

her ideal item build should look something like this with her current kit.

item 3111 item 3078 item 3072 item 3087 item 3035 item 3053

just shuffle around some stats to make this build more effective on her and clean up the glitches with her passive and e. and bingo, you have a unique marksman.

the change to her passive to scale off base ad + bonus ad without actually buffing the overall value on early levels (keeping the damage value the same) would allow her to get some lifesteal runes or attack speed runes instead of ad runes, together with the extra passive on her q would give her a better first clear in the jungle.

the way i see it. the new quin can push a wave to their tower and then join in on a team fight, without teleport. it's basically a permanently splitpushing tryindamere without the drawback of having to teamfight 4v5. Also, while her dueling potential has gone down with the removal of her blind, it increases her map pressure by being able to participate in many more fights because of the movement speed of her new R.

well yea, thats kindof lame isnt it? the reason to chose her right now is her ability to duel well combined with map control thanks to her w and ult.

i honestly think she would be best off as a jungler. both thematically and due to her kit. being able to fly across half the map, then swoop into a lane.

Unlucky Number71 votes

From what i've read her new ult has no cooldown, and her q is better at waveclearing. she's basically trading dueling power with map presence.

She gets played most as an ADC if I base it on champion GG's lists.

Past that, her play rate is pretty bad.

It looks like she will want to go Mid now more than anything with these changes and depending on the numbers the Base + bonus AD vs % Total AD might overall be a buff. Even more so since Q can now proc it.

I played her in bot, mid and top when I did play her a bit but overall, I'll wait and see. If it turns out well I would give her a shot again in mid or top lane. She could be a very scary assassin if her Burst is high enough. She has less dueling power but more overall burst, that alone could make her deadly as a roamer.

as what else would she be played?

you essentially just said something like "veigar gets played as a mage". "sejuani gets played as a tank"

i havent seen an ap quinn around. and the bruiser build doesnt seem to work well.

if you look at her statistics, then you can see that her general power in a game is all over the place. she has multiple small powerspikes and low points during the game if played on bot.

as a top laner her power in lane is overtuned, but she still compleately breaks down midgame, and then spikes again by lategame. all they need to really do with her is even out her development throughout the game. just slightly tune her solo laning down early (maybe just buffing dorans shield would do it) and improving her midgame.

I meant her position in terms of role, like bot lane etc with a support as the attack damage carry.

If I said top or mid that would change her role on a team unless bot was something different.

but. shes an attack damage carry if you play her on bot or top. champion class and role are two completely different things. morde doesnt become an adc just because hes played on bot. hes a fighter if you take him into solo or duo lane.

Top lane fighter

I annoy some people with that, It's fun ^^

ridiculously strong early, and has a terrible midgame, then scales strong into lategame again.

meaning if you take her into lane as a counterpick to a fighter, it doesnt matter how far ahead you are by midgame. the fighter now has his main powerspike and youre having serious trouble. meaning this is usually the point in time when your opponent can come back despite being behind.

so shes risky to pick. you either win early and are even by midgame, or you lose early and get crushed.

exactly what i was talking about. all they have to do is slightly tune her down early on and improve her midgame in return.

I won't argue over semantics.

That said her Early without a blind and changing how her passive scales will tone down her early bully potential me thinks from what they have said.

Urgot get's played as an ADC too, they are both much better in solo lanes, and shoehorning them into duo lanes at the expense of their solo lane viability just because people play them bot just reduces the options you have in champ select and homogenizes the ADC role even further at the cost of something unique.

Quinn changes based also on what Riot said seemed to suggest better for solo lanes for Quinn, not duo.

I actualy really like the changes. A roaming adc is just the perfect fit for her playstyle.

The biggest thing I'm worried about is her ability to actually FIGHT enemies but mostly her becoming a wave clear machine... Cause right now she just sounds like a basic Tryndamere but more annoying. Looking into Quinn it stills looks like she can duel but good luck EVER trying to 1v1 Yi, Rengar, Vayne, Jinx or like... anything sigh.... but this is just a guess on how it may turn out w/o blind, maybe Quinn will just deal a ton more damage now
