I don't like this buff to Fleet Footwork because it narrows down users for the rune

[New Effect] "Healing is increased by 100% of your critical damage modifier when triggered by a critical hit."

Well not really but it kinda does because it's being buffed only for crit which can only be used by marksmen. Reason why I don't like this buff is because out of all the trees it feels like Resolve and Precision have the least amount of champion diversity. You only go resolve if you're tanky, you only go precision if you're a marksmen. While Sorcery, Domination, Inspiration, can be used by all classes and it feels good.

I personally like taking Fleet Footwork on mages and I've averaged a lot of healing from the rune and have found it useful. I'm actually unsure if it needs buffs but if it does I would rather buff it in a way that is beneficial to numerous classes.

Honestly, yeah I agree. I liked the fact it scaled well on AP's

I think they should keep it as an option of AP's and AD's

Its AP scaling isn't changed at all, though. Nothing about the rune was nerfed, it just has the critical bonus added onto it.

It getting a bonus from critical strikes makes sense considering it's an Energized effect, thus having synergy with RFC, which has critical chance.

Didn't read the changes, just saying I don't want to see it nerfed for AP, glad it wasnt

Which was exactly the rreason why it was so cancerous. But rito loves adcs being cancerous. So adcs now have potentially three keystones to take and bruiser still have zero. Good game.

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Ah well it's still pretty weak comparative to old Warlords (literally a 1/4th).

Weight of Law3 votes

Worse than 1/4th, it only scales with 10% of bonus ad instead of total ad.

Shadow Hazard2 votes

so the base scaling just stopped existing i guess?....

SzGamer2271 votes

Grasp of the Undying or Aftershock for Resolve, Press the Attack for Precision, Dark Harvest or Electrocute for Domination. What bruiser are you having trouble picking a keystone for?

Gesterr3 votes

Champs like Olaf and Renekton are feeling pretty bad right now actually.

DeusVult1 votes

Ya, they made lethal tempo for Olaf, but failed to realize that he is never going to get the option to just sit there and use 2.0+ attack speed. He is melee, they just need to walk away from him.

renek, Darius, etc have no real keystone option that feels great, its true

PB4UAME1 votes

Well, and he has something stupid like 179% free AS from his kit, the most of any champion. The only AS item he ever buys is a BotRK for the extra healing and the on-hit proc with his ludicrous steroids. He gets absolutely nothing from extra AS anyway, as he can't even make use of the AS he already has due to being melee.

SzGamer2271 votes

Grasp of the Undying is as good on Darius as it ever was. He bullies lane with auto attacks and can use his passive bleed to vastly improve Grasp's uptime.

Aftershock would be a good rune to take into ranged matchups that bully Darius, because initiating a trade with E would give him a resistance steroid to help turn the tide of a rough lane when it matters most.

Phase Rush is also a great keystone on Darius because it gives him some much-needed mobility in teamfights and can let him steamroll an easy lane matchup with the burst of movement speed.

######Nobody takes Dark Harvest on Darius, but if you're playing into a squishy team comp that doesn't have the cc to shut you down, the burst damage is ridiculously good for cleaning up fights. An auto attack after picking up a soul when Noxian Might is active and you've collected 100 total souls will do 400+ damage. You only need to get someone down to 1000 health to get another ult execute and pick up another soul, so that 400 damage goes a long way.

SzGamer2271 votes

Renekton has an auto attack reset that applies on-hit effects multiple times, so he's one of the most reliable melee users of Press the Attack in the game. He's weak, but that's an issue of chaotic preseason balance, not an issue of him not having a keystone that he can abuse.

I don't play Olaf, but Press the Attack wouldn't be fine since his job is to run up and hit someone over and over again. He could also use Lethal Tempo, which he could use along with his ult to stick to someone to make full use of the overcapped attack speed; probably less reliable, but he could very well be one of the most reliable melee users of the keystone since his ult gives him movement speed and unstoppability.

Tomoe Gozen1 votes

I'm wondering, does this apply to spells that can crit like Anivia's E from her own Frosted passive, Eve's ult dealing increased damage to targets with less than 30% HP? Or is it strictly a crit from an AA?

Blackstone013 votes

Probably just AAs since it's based on your critical hit damage modifier.

Gesterr2 votes

Well actually Anivia empowered E and Kathus Q if isolated at least in the past counted as crits and are (or was?) reduced by Randuin passive.

Glory ln Death3 votes

Fleet Footwork only activates from auto attacks.

Blackstone013 votes

Yeah, which got changed. Now Randuin is only basic attack crits. Plus it was a load of horse shit that those two were effected by Randuin's passive and the logic of why was dumb as fuck.

LordGeovanni1 votes

It Isnt getting nerfed and Mages lose absolutely nothing is right. mage players just seem to need something to cry about every time adcs get buffs and they dont get buffs to make them better because adcs got better. No the rune does not need to scale with crit it does not make sense it being an energyse effect has nothing to do with it getting scaling with crit when it already scales with ad and ad scales with crit . Adcs do not need that buff the other 2 runes in the true are just over tuned rather than this one being undertuned (or can just be another result of adcs having too much power those runes are fine on everyone else though.

Troll for Trump24 votes

Yeah, it roots the precision tree as an "ADC tree" (not like it wasn't pretty obvious before, but still)

Runes are supposed to give everyone options, right?

I don't think it should be pushed for ADCs any more than it already is.

Lùmen1 votes

I don't know, I never found any success with non AD's on this tree as a primary tree.. With an exception to Fiora. But I don't play bruisers so much except for Camille so I can't really say what's right or wrong

Troll for Trump2 votes

Most bruisers needed a combination of stats meshed together from different classes. The current version of runes is a little to specialized for most of them.

Exceptions are Shyv, Udyr, Nasus, and Urgot, with 3 of them using press the attack, so it's more because of the keystone being strong than the champ. Garen is doing surprisingly well too.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

I have fun with Garen Precision/Resolve.

RavenMagus3 votes

I really wish there was some snowbally late-game fantasy AP version of the "Legend" series of runes for stacking bonuses on takedowns.

But no, apparently "becoming a legend" is only for ADCs :(

Troll for Trump1 votes

Well, the lategame for APs is gathering storm, but it seems kinda... slow. Though that's the point.

RavenMagus1 votes

Gathering Storm gives AD too, so it's not even AP exclusive.

GayFluffyUnicorn16 votes

I mean we are playing league of adcs ofc adcs have the most and best options. Just imagine fighters having an actual viable keystone LUL. Now THAT would be madness. But riven gets 5 base dmg on Q and camille gets half a second shield and Q duration in which she can trade with no dmg because she has no dmg anymore so we gucci. They still get outtraded by orrn and cho and maokai from lvl 1 on but who cares.

The Yetii Rider3 votes

The tree gives 18% AS, it's already pretty sketchy for anyone not interested in autoing to take it.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

Runes are supposed to give everyone options, right?

Its already the case... most here complain for nothing here

Troll for Trump1 votes

They really aren't. Precision is nice for on-hit. Sorcery: Mages get Aery and Comet. But Aery is supposed to be for shielding and supports primarily, just from a pure design standpoint. I assume Phase Rush appeals to a few mages too. Domination: Ok lane assassins get TLD, champs that farm get Soul Harvest, I guess Hecarim/Rammus gets Predator Resolve: My biggest issue is with this one. The way it's set up is bruiser = grasp, cc tank = Aftershock, Vanguard = Guardian Inspiration: There's nothing here specifically tailored for certain champs, so this tree is generally fine. Problems with the tree tend to be the result of certain champs abusing them more so than the keystones themselves.

The thing is, you don't really get a choice to pick a) a keystone that fits your specific champ (you never could) b) customize keystones for playstyle, on some champs. Some champs simply just have to use one keystone to function; switching to another would be suicidal. This applies to a lesser extent with minor runes

Athenes Lulu9 votes

I don't like this nerf to Aery because it narrows down users for the rune. No one uses it for the shield, ever, so it shouldn't be for JUST supporty champs!

/s

######Or we could buff comet and phase rush as well.

Tomoe Gozen14 votes

Aery wasn't meant to be a damage option keystone at all. But since it's more reliable than Comet and Phase Rush isn't a damage option, it's the best one to proc your damage with. Heals and Shields boosted from Aery is good but people don't use it for those purposes because, if Panth can use it to bully people out of lane (along with Scorch, full early game champion, why can't everyone else?

That's the problem. Comet isn't weak and neither is Phase Rush. There's no reason to bring them "in line" with Aery because Aery is too strong.

But since Aery was the only good option for MF, Riot is probably going to have to buff her in some way or devise a Keystone for her.

Weight of Law1 votes

MF can work fine with comet, aery was just better on her.

Athenes Lulu2 votes

It works, but Aery is much more reliable.

Athenes Lulu3 votes

Realistically, Aery is not only strong damage-wise, but also because comet as the damage keystone option is so unreliable that even some of the purest of mages and caster ADCs (yes, looking at you MF and Jhin) take Aery simply because of her reliability.

But OP's logic is the equivalent of asking why "Aery shouldn't get her damage nerfed", just like how Fleet Footwork needs a buff because of how it's a straight-up downgrade of old Warlord's, which has been previously taken by caster ADCs ever since DFT nerfs.

TwitchInMyPants9 votes

Old forms of warlords boosting healing from crit were removed because it makes half the champions good with it and anyone who isn't a crit carry gets shafted even if it would've been a helpful option

How many times is Riot going to tie healing to crit before they realize its a bad idea?

GayFluffyUnicorn9 votes

Until adcs are played top, mid, jungle and bot as the only option in every game.

Lùmen6 votes

looks I'm going to build crit on Fiora now to make sure I get the most of this keystone. Serious talk now, even without the buffs, I still feel as if this keystone fits perfectly for her. You can hit a minion to get a vital faster and get out of quick trades easily. The visuals and the SFX also have some synergy with her own (her classic skin at least) so it even feels better.

Tomoe Gozen5 votes

Fiora's Bladework has a 100% sure crit on her second strike so you can proc this reliably even without having crit chance in your builds.

Sire Hippington2 votes

Her bladework is pretty usless for that, cause the hit that procs it needs to be a crit, and i can ensure you that the second E hit will nearly never be that hit...

Votable Jester2 votes

If you plan it then it can be. If you don't play with that in mind then of course it won't be.

Critmaster Garen4 votes

they could give it a component to heal a certain % missing health.

this would work for all classes.

Bârd7 votes

Would probably be too strong on tanks and juggernauts, then.

Maokai Darius Trundle Udyr DrMundo item 3065

It'd pretty much outclass grasp on most champions.

Rexxiee3 votes

So?

Certain runes are going to be better on certain classes of champions.

Is it a problem that adcs cannot use aftershock? Or that tanks cant use lethal tempo too well?

GayFluffyUnicorn9 votes

It is a problem that keystones get forced to be better on adcs.

Bârd4 votes

FF was intended for marksmen, even if other classes use it, and it's currently utter garbage on them, largely due to the heal sucking ass if you're not Jhin (who would much rather run comet).

Auz the Ripper3 votes

I honestly prefer to run glacial augment on jhin: it stops people from escaping you, it stops divers from sticking to you, and it makes landing W braindead.

they cannot escape the art!

Red Wreckage1 votes

it is to make it look more viable compared to press the attack.....which I think atm is the only keystone visible to AD DPS.

tempo just sucks ass....1.5 seconds to ramp up late game when a press the attack ADC has already proc'd his keystone and ur screen is grey

Mordepool2 votes

Sounds like a nerf to press the attack would be better for the tree
