Edit: I also hope they keep his personality somewhat similar. Rhaast is this crazy demon that kills everything but Aatrox from his voice-lines has seemed more like this wise-demon guy.
I can't really agree here. I never got-into the banners as wings idea. I thought it was clever but they just looked awkward. Like broken wings or some kindof underdeveloped wings. Or wings somebody made who didn't really understand the actual structure of wings. fake wings.
I just hope they keep his champ select quote. It's one of my favorites.
Agreed,the new wings are kind of a bummer as they look rather generic,wheras the previous ones were unique.
Though maybe they had to give him more functional wings to go with some of his new abilities.

Im trying to get a good photo with those lower back wings right under the sholder blades rather than on the sholder blades like they were before.
Oh as an aatrox main I was thinking 4 days ago but didnt want to really make a post. Aatrox Ult should get A pause during his passive revive (not ga or Zilean ult) like Master yi's Ult does during meditate. Also Can his W get its ad ratio back (i dont care for the hp ratio becuase i want to build real bruiser not hp tank bruiser. Im not saying take away the hp scaling im saying give him back at least 70% of his previous ad healing) 
I dont see riot Taking away Riven's Ad ratio and giving her 5% of max hp sheild.
Overall, both wings are great though. I don't mind riot giving old aatrox's wings to a new champ/VGU in the future.
I was fine with the wings being changed. But his curves!? They got rid of his curves!! Now he's just another buff character [sg-janna]
I get the banner wings idea but imo they never really suited him that well.. they looked kinda painful considering what normal wings look like, like they're broken or something.
Speaking of Rhaast, I still don't understand his personality shift after transforming. When he's in the scythe, he is somewhat reminiscent of Aatrox, but more relaxed. Violent, but joking. Just plain sinister. It actually caught me by surprise how normal a member of an ancient war race could act.
But then he transforms and goes from cold, joking murderer into "STAB STAB KILL KILL" mode.
Back to Aatrox - I hope that they stylize his wings so that they take a similar shape to their old version when folded, and only go into the bat wing spread out in some circumstances, like, if his ult is still a self buff.

His current wings are ugly. They are one of the main reasons that mecha aatrox looks so bad.
Rhaast isn't crazy lol. Jinx is crazy, Rhaast is not Jinx. Rhaast is too intelligent and cunning to be crazy.
So, the wings are fine, less like ornaments in my view that don't look like they'd work. I have a crazy lore theory however on who Aatrox host is based on the wings.
In the lore for Rhaast it was stated that the Darklin were defeated by the Golden Armour Warrior Queen... let's say this is Kayle. The 5 remaining Darkin to powerful to be defeated out right were trapped in their weapons then locked away, 3 aren't locked away anymore. We know how 2 'got out' but not Aatrox.
My lore theory is that Aatrox being the most powerful was left in a secret location far away being looked over by an immortal from the same race as Kayle and Morgana, keeping the idea that they are immortal angels. This ageless Angel stood guard of the sword for a long time but slowly was being influenced by Aatrox. He gave in and touched the sword and Aatrox near instantly took over, if he is meant to be that powerful his possession would also be easier.
The reason he has wings is because his angel host had them, but the reason he doesn't fly is because Aatrox doesn't know how to use them properly. Look at Rhaast, he can take over Kayn but when he does his wall walking isn't upgraded.

Going off of what we know of the other Darkin, they dont seem to be associated with anything but killing shit now, whereas in the current Aatrox lore hes apparently some harbinger of doom for the enemy or somethin
What upsets me more than our demon edgeboy's banner wings being replaced is the fact that they made his lips the same color as the rest of his face.
