What is the tradeoff for being easy to play?

Why are champions that any noob can pick and play (tanks and bruisers) are so powerful but if you want to carry as ADC or mage it requires 10x more skill to achieve the same results?

#How2play tanks and bruisers

  1. Buy tank gear.
  2. Spam all skills which almost always includes a gap closer AND hard CC
  3. ???
  4. Profit

*no knowledge of positioning necessary

#How2play ADCs and mages

  1. Buy damage items
  2. Analyze where damage threats and CC threats are, position appropriately
  3. As ADC, attack the tank until you see an assassin or bruiser dive in
  4. As mage, stand around and wait because if you use any skills on the tank you become useless 5a. When said assassins/bruisers dive in, blow your escapes + flash + hourglass + QSS (as applicable) 5b. Hope your team's tanks/supports CC the diving assassins/bruisers. Chances are theyre too busy chasing the enemy Ezreal.
  5. 5a works only about half the time. Assuming youre not already dead, focus the diving assassin/bruiser
  6. Attack all remaining enemies and hope your team's tanks and bruisers are better then their team's

*Advanced knowledge of all enemies locations and cooldowns required **Perfection required. One small mistake and you are dead because you must buy damage items, not tank

Easier to play champions are more one dimensional and predictable so they are easier to manipulate. As a result, they lack the pressure that more complex champions can apply.

It takes so much more effort to play a more difficult champion, and the reward is not even there. It is so easy to pick Jax and jump in, spam, and 1v5 while doing well with say, Ezreal or Velkoz requires far more skill to do.

I feel this is largely biased, or at least highly situational.

Not situational. There is no difference between a noob Jax player and a pro Jax player.

That's...just not true at all.

What does Jax do? Jump in, stun, spam. Thats pretty much the same for every tank and bruiser.

Mages usually have to combo their skills to maximize their damage. Veigar is not going to use his dark matter unless his stun is up. Leblanc doesnt throw random Qs out. But bruisers? There is no downside to simply mashing all your buttons off cooldown.

bruisers also have to be in melee range to hit you. If their gap closer gets countered, they're fucked. (I.E. Vayne condemning jax into a wall as he jumps)

You know, every class can be generalized in a similar manner.... Your argument is pretty weak here.

Look at what I said earlier. ADCs generally also have to save their escapes for the right time. Bruisers have zero decision-making. The best way to play them is to spam all skills, and thats why you cant tell the good players from the bad.

Really....why don't you just play them then if it's that easy. Go ahead and spam an ability and watch the other champ escape because you randomly blew your ult or cc.

This post is garbage. You know what an adc has to do? Shoot the closest target and kite while their team peels. That is literally it. If they do that they can win.

You can say every role is simple if you want. Literally the only hard part about playing adc is learning to kite. Everyone has to learn to position and it's different depending on what you are playing be it tank, assassin, mage, or adc.

But they all require some thought and skill. You probably think your support just randomly spams abilities brainlessly while you carry them on an adc.

champs that are consistently taking damage actually have to know how to gauge a fight (whether or not it's winnable or not)

ADCs generally don't have to

This is the first post I feel kinda makes sense. Although I feel this applies more to assassins. When you build tank items, decision making kinda goes out the window because you are not punished for mistakes.
