Also its because his base stat growth is absolute shit and he's completely item dependent.

Not only that, but his ult is only 50% BONUS Armor Pen. So the armor pen is pretty irrelevant to most squishies.

The OP didn't say that crit was available with no items. He said "Free crit". That's a true statement. Yasuo buys an item with 20% crit, he gets a free 20% crit bonus. So one item = 40% crit.

That's free crit. It's not really possible to deny that he got 20% extra crit for free....no other champ in the game would get that crit bonus for that item. Just Yasuo. He doesn't pay extra for the crit. It's free.

As to yours, I don't care about Trynd, nor am I arguing for or against Trynd. I AM however, saying that Yas does in fact get double the crit chance from crit items - crit chance that no other champion in the game gets from the same item. That's pretty much a textbook definition of free.

To break it down for you, let's pretend I sell apples, and you want one. You pay me for one apple, as do many other customers. When you pay me, I give you TWO apples when you've only paid for one. Any other customer that wants more apples has to buy another apple. In effect, you received a free apple.

Does not matter. This doesn't make it "free", unless once more you think every passive and ability a champion gets is "free".

Is Cassiopiea's movement speed from her passive free?

Is Shyvana's armour and MR?

Is Vel'koz's true damage?

Much like how Cassiopiea's passive frees up an item slot that would normally be filled by boots, or how Malphite can get way more armour than anyone else due to his W's passive.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. It is also a telltale sign that the person using it can not come up with an original thought to save their life.

Look, I get that you're pretty ignorant of how champions are balanced and champion balance in general (the fact that you think Vayne of all people needs a nerf proves that), but no champion gets anything for free. Everything a champion gets was given to them to take up part of their power budget (which is not to say that a champion can't be given too many strengths and not enough weaknesses, Azir back in the day was basically the perfect mid lane mage with no weakness that wasn't inherent to the class)

Yasuo's crit is actually much less free than most passives because what it cost him is explicit. He trades higher crit damage for greater crit chance. In general, he actually trades good base stats for the various tools and passives in his kit. Compare his base stats to Tryndamere's to see what I mean.

Those champs you mentioned all have either cooldowns or in-game actions that need to be taken to activate the ability/passive.

Yasuo needs to spend 400 gold, and his crit chance is doubled. For free. It's literally like buying 800 gold worth of crit chance items, but only spending 400 gold. It's free. It doesn't become disabled for 10 seconds when he gets hit by an attack (like malphite), it doesn't apply only during his ultimate (like shyvana), he doesn't have to hit multiple abilities in a limited timeframe to enable it (like cass and velkoz), and it isn't on a 3 minute cooldown (like aatrox).

It's a shame that you just eschew logic because you either love Yasuo so much or just want so badly to be right. Either way, you're not, and you just come across like a hardheaded fanboy. He gets free crit chance 100% of the time after he buys 1 crit chance item.

It's logically undeniable, no matter how much you pat yourself on the back or try to put me down.

Also, don't mistake sarcasm for flattery. It just shows how utterly foolish you really are. For the record, I'd rather have no original thoughts than to deny the most obvious and concrete facts. I bet you think the earth is flat too.

Malphite's armour doesn't become disabled for ten seconds when he gets hit by an attack. He always has it.

Well Yasuo has to run up and auto attack to make use of his double crit chance! See? Cassiopiea does not have to do a single thing to get extra movement speed. Her passive gives her extra movement speed "for free". She doesn't even pay any gold to utilize it. She does give up the ability to purchase boots, but that frees her up for another big ticket AP item.

because let's also not pretend that yasuo doesn't have 25% damage reduction on Q critical strike, and 10% on basic attacks. No, it's 100% "free".

in exchange for the shield he has reduced base stats, crit is in exchange for the fact that he is crazy item dependent (the crits are also reduced), and the armor pen is completely based on getting your ult off and attacking in the small window of time
