Fiddlesticks in the jungle. . good?

in patch 4.21, it is written that Fiddlesticks is: "certainly a pretty big (terror) given the current jungle environment," so they made changes that make him, in my opinion, a bit weaker.

But I don't think Fiddlesticks is terribly strong in the current jungle.

Because he's mostly using his drain spell, he makes few auto attacks, and misses out on the damage from the jungling item. As well, since he naturally keeps his health high, he's not benefiting from that aspect of the item, either, nor does he benefit from smiting red.

The current jungling environment creates the scenario where, unless I enter a long gank without casting spells, I either have to return to base, or I will be too short on mana to take the second blue. Of course you ideally want to make a lot of action on the battlefield and have to go back around 6:30 anyway, but now you're choice to stay on the field is much more limited.

I don't see anything about the current jungle that makes Fiddlesticks a powerful choice. Especially when you could be picking Lee Sin, instead.

Think Fiddlesticks is typically a pick that either completely dominates or gets dominated. There are situations where as long as you aren't going up against a jungler that will go into your jungle and take your lunch money, Fiddle can be a better pick than Lee Sin, especially if you are strong at Fiddle (scales stronger than Lee Sin in terms of raw damage).

I don't think those 2 nerfs really damage him much unless you did put Fiddle in a lane either as a solo or a support (limits Dark Wind's silence and damage potential especially within minion wave distance) or played ARAM. Losing multiple silences on one target is going to hurt but he still is the best jungle option in terms of bringing AoE damage and still sustains himself well.

I feel that, earlier, Fiddle could still come back, even if he was initially defeated.

The thing is, why shouldn't you invade Fiddle? Once he's used drain on a monster, that's a lot of his damage output gone if you start fighting him. If you have an interrupt, then he can't win the battle, so why shouldn't Fiddle be attacked? Especially after the nerf to his heal, he won't heal damage as fast as you're doing it to him at early levels.

His drain is on such a short cool down its right back up after he uses it And it's unaffected by this patch, the fixed his passive to work better and they made his silence a longer duration, THESE are buffs people not nerfs, please re read patch notes because I have no clue where you're getting nerfs from

well, I had gotten used to relying on the random factor of his E to get double or triple strikes. It really made him feel different to play from other champions. Now that his E is more predictable, I think champs will react more aggressively to him, instead of being scared off by the potential of receiving massive damage. There isn't too much to fear about his E if it's only going to hit you once, and that the silence only applies once, means it's less threatening when you can get a double strike anyway.

As well, making his passive a 2.5 second on-spell-hit effect, while it can raise the maximum range of the effect, overall reduces the amount of magic damage Fiddle's team is outputting in nearly all scenarios. I would have liked them to raise the passive's effect if they're going to take this kind of route. If you have to hit them with a spell to get the effect, then Fiddle's E is doubly less effective than it was previously.

Here is something I think you are missing with E, it only silences once, it still bounces all over the place doing damage each time, it bounces to non silenced targets on priority so everything gets silenced equally but will then continue to bounce as normal, not to mention in team fights with plenty of minions around it will get all champs first so that means their whole team gets silenced instead of one champ and like four minions and one minion gets hit 3 times wasting the E all together, go play some games man really test it out, I have a sneaking suspicion you'll enjoy the change once you take the time to fully understand it.

I'm not sure champion priority is given to Fiddles E yet. Though it should be, to bring in more in line with other spells :\

. . .also, how come you didn't insult me, and were nice to me? I'm not sure where I am anymore. .

Killstrado1 votes

Lmao insulting people gets old, if you really want to mess with someone's head just be nice

It does not only go after champions . It goes for either champion or minion. Its a nerf

Killstrado1 votes

and for the passive buy item 3001 and have another teammate get item 3091

I main fiddle and I'm master tier .. these are nerfs...

instead of going into crazy detail i'll just outline the points that make fiddle very strong

  • Sustain jungler, he can clear pretty easily
  • very high damage ultimate
  • multiple silence
  • 2.25 second fear ( this is the scariest thing throughout the game)
  • strong ganks at all levels
  • very strong level 1-3 I think fiddle can win a ton of jungle match ups at lvl 3
  • good at all stages of the game

So is Fiddle being balanced by his abilities not being enhanced by the current jungle? Fiddle wasn't all that popular before the current jungle was made.

MattAkhavan1 votes

he was popular enough to draw a ton of bans. the fact that his fear last almost 3 seconds and coupled with his 1 second silence leads to 4 seconds of not being able to do anything. His ultimate can be game changing as well.

Also i don't know what you mean by being enhanced by the current jungle.

as a jungler that does not rely on auto attacks, the jungling items are of minor benefit to him.

MattAkhavan1 votes

I think having the ability to slow someones movement speed by 50% is very effective especially when closing a distance for ult or fear. additionally magus provides a shit ton of stats for it's cost and very efficient. As for building outside of the box, since your ultimate does a ton of damage without a ton of ap you can even get juggernaut and get tenacity, which is a very underrated stat. being tanky allows you to stay in the fight longer too. You don't necessarily need to auto the jungle a lot, it's more about the stats you get from a jungle item.

1 Wing1 votes

Well, good point there. I'd still rather have more AP though :)

Killstrado1 votes

As many times as I've played fiddle, not once have I ever bought a jungle item past or present, he doesn't need one just rush item 3157 or item 3174

1 Wing1 votes

Well, now you're missing out on 10-20 gold per camp if you don't get one :\

Killstrado1 votes

Good point, but Utility masteries and runes could fix that. Bonus gold is nice but a zhons at level six for his ult is so much nicer (not necessarily better) for ganking

Is your jungle main named Lee Sin?

No?

Then your gettin nerfed.

1 Wing1 votes

But Lee Sin was already the top jungler. .

Xtremey1 votes

try out full tank fiddle: juggernaut into spirit visage, randuins, banshees and frozen heart with boots. You really wanna get the 40% cdr so you can spam that q. Also be sure to get 3 points in w before straight up maxing q.

Fiddle didn't need a jungle item then and he doesn't need one now...He is a bit weak atm early because you just don't want the jungle item, which I think balances him enough. Any enemy jungler that isn't trying to poach Fid early, is f'ing up. Trying to create "balanced" champs to each other, greatly reduces diversity in game play, instead try to understand how to take advantage of a champ's weakness, like the game intended. Redistribution of wealth is never a good thing...

I main fiddle lane and im master tier. And after this recent patch hes best in the jungle. The nerf to his E ruined his lanning.
