Surrendering is clearly "toxic", but why is it still included?

Unless I'm mistaken, most players claim that surrendering a match is in itself a toxic act. However, Riot retains the functionality.

Is this a case of allowing a "lesser evil"?

How is surrendering a toxic element? If one team concedes defeat, and the players no longer wish to participate, then HECK they should be allowed to. The only thing that could be toxic is the possibility of arranged surrenders by trolls, which is very rare.

When surrenders get veto'd, things tend to go downhill between teammates.

This............. isn't really true. it happens maybe 1/10 times for me, maybe even less.

you never get the surrender or afk folks? all I can think bout is how people are gonna start afking or feeding or everyones on tilt and all that shit when surrender doesnt go through

worst of all, now that all hope of winning is lost cuz of that people STILL refuse to surrender out of SPITE

1/10 at best. Most people just........... finish the game like a normal person.

You're pretty god damned naieve.

I'm naive (the correct way to spell it) because of how people in my games play? That doesn't even make sense. I'm saying what I see, no opinions or altercations.

I'm my experience the only time it goes bad is if the person who wanted surrender goes 'fine, I'll afk' and does that or sits at the fountain talking shit, or if the person keeps trying to surrender over and over and over and over.

Very rarely has it been a veto to surrender, and their team mates go "/all report Vayne toxic"

"Surrender or AFK" only happens some times. If they AFK, then Leaverbuster bursts their balls and there ya go, problem solved. Or if it starts a flood of toxicity, that's why Riot includes a Mute, Block, and Report button.

I find teams full of feeders who refuse to surrender when the game is clearly over to be more toxic.

It needs to exist to prevent a team thats couldn't possibly lose since their so far ahead from turtling and tormenting the players they've already defeated. People who surrender before a game is unwinnable are typically the ones who couldn't be bothered to try any harder than they were, and just want to join a game they have to expend less effort in.
