Can we stop complaining about Diana?

Or rather, complain about her while also understanding that there's a GOOD reason why she's been left weak? Diana doesn't have a healthy game play pattern. At all. Nearly all her damage, as a diver, is front loaded into one singular point of impact after a Q hit confirm. When behind, she's useless to the team, given that her in-fight bulk is primarily due to her W, and without enough AP, the shield isn't big enough to keep her in a fight. When ahead, she's a walking reminder of why we did the assassin update, ass-blasting anything her Q can reach.

I can understand wanting better for Diana. I like the champ, too. I do NOT want her buffed, though. Her current kit is one that can kindly stay where it is.

Whos complaining about Diana? Diana has buffs upcoming and people are mostly positive and happy about those.

Moonsilver Blade (P): Passive changed from [Diana gains 20% attack speed] to [Diana's spell casts grant her 20% attack speed for her next 3 attacks] [new] Restores (+15% AP) mana when Moonsilver Blade cleave activates

Crescent Blade (Q) cooldown lowered from 10/9/8/7/6 to 8/7.5/7/6.5/6

Pale Cascade (W): mana cost lowered from 60/70/80/90/100 to 40/55/70/85/100

E:[new] Passive: Increases the attack speed gained from Moonsilver Blade to 50/60/70/80/90%.

That's the point. People complained about Diana being weak, and welcomed the buffs, but we might relly regret that. Those buffs can push Diana more into fighter regions as they were intended to (I'll be the first one to try mallet/bork tank Diana, trust me), but it is much more likely that we will get the same Akali duplicate as always, only with much easier jungle clear. And with her outdated kit, strong Diana doesn't really make anyone happy, just like strong Akali.

Diana, simply, needs and deserves more work.

Well Diana was designed from start to be bruiser. But somehow became assassin.

Regardless of how people feel now, back then everyone hated how there was literally 0 windows of actual counter-play against assassins when you actually engaged one. You could ward ahead of time. You could be grouped ahead of time. You could stomp lane so they'd be useless at that point, even. However, when an assassin had you in their sights, not only did they get the first move, but their damage was front-loaded to the point where that first move almost single-handedly decided the entirety of that interaction with no input from the receiving end. No one likes having their urgency in the game reduced to near 0 just cause, so assassins were tooled to emphasize their mobility more and one-shotting people less, which isn't that bad, given assassins can still get a few kills and delete people about as fast as before, but it takes more work to earn that now.

With that said, Diana's as front loaded as old assassins were, since she was made with assassins, fighters, AND mages in mind at the same time. Given she's supposed to be a diver before anything else, you'd think her burst wouldn't all land on someone THAT fast. It's ridiculous how fast it is, and offers no room to save yourself and a very tiny window for someone else to help, given that someone's there at all.

idk i find some of them way more toxic to play against

Akali Katarina Leblanc in particular, i have 0 fun dealing with the latter 2 being ridic lane bullies and the former deleting me with entirely point and click rotations as soon as she hits 6 and buys revolver

LB is meant to be strong early, and she was before her rework, too. Hell, LB deleted people FASTER before now. Like in the span of her dashing to your position, you died. Now she has to wait for a small timer before doing that. It's more of a band-aid fix that didn't fix the problem with LB, given that her issue is that she's an assassin kit with no real niche built entirely around her "deception fantasy" with no regard to playing out in a healthy manner, but I'd rather her have a delay on her burst than her just insta-gibbing people before they can even reach for the Locket button.

Kat, on the other hand, is just entirely healthier in my eyes. She's less feast or famine, and her jumps are more fluid and useful, but also pre-assigned from either around her latest Q target's location or around her current location. Kat feels pretty damn good coming from my perspective after the assassin update.

if i could actually outplay kat i wouldn't mind but as it is i can dodge her knives -> she still gets resets so i can't run from her, but because she has such a generous window on her knives i can't drop any attacks on the knife since she just has to wait and then go there anyway. i have to put way too much effort into trying to mindgame her than she has to do to me

laning against her is just miserable

You can outplay Kat, though. I'm not gonna act like an expert on it, but it's all based on where her knives are. Playing around the knives decides who's playing well and who aren't.

As for not being able to escape her, how effective of an assassin can Kat be if you could easily escape her? At least it's better than Diana's doubled up gap close with an aoe, slowing knock-up just to MAKE SURE you die.

Honestly I don't think Diana is very far away from being a major threat as it is. I feel like the buffs have the potential to propel her into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

I dont get why people complain about her when they made a champ that is better in every way.... Ekko
