Nasus's "weak" early game.

PhearBunny··3 votes·888 views

It doesn't exist. As early as 10mins he is capable of handily 1v2'ing even the strongest of duelists.

Nasus is supposed to be a late game hypercarry, not a hypercarry by 9minutes. Nasus should be the opposite of WW. Useless for 20minutes and oppressive after 20mins. Whereas WW is oppressive for 20mins and useless after 20mins. Nasus has no window of weakness anymore and it needs to change.

Yeah he does, just because he can survive early game doesn’t mean his early game is good.

He can’t realistically trade early without spending half his mana and ranged champions like Gnar and Vlad.

So your answer to Nasus is to...just pick a safe ranged champ, that he cant massacre? Even still, you aren't stopping him from being oppressive, youre just simply playing safe.

The fact that the only answer to Nasus is "pick safe" Should be a red flag.

Darius, Riven, Jayce, Pantheon, Olaf, Fiora, all melee ad all can outduel him early.

Nasus is a problem right now, but not because of his early game, which is shit, so much so he has to hide under a turret to win most duels and wait it out. His problem is that he hits his mid game spike way too fast.

These are all true, and they must capitalize on this early-game weakness, or Nasus will just outscale and even beat them.

Kleptomancy comes to mind as the offender in that regard, but that's a can of worms I'd rather not open.

So, really, shutting him down early is your best bet. That's been the main way of countering a Nasus for the longest time.

(Might be replying to the wrong person, let me know if I am.)

I’m the person pointing out his flaws mostly which he does have and if he is going kleptomaniac, he is neutering his defenses early while leaving him winning lane more to rng, which still falls in line with his early game being shit. That hasn’t changed since his inception and the only reason he is strong now is because the current meta pushes the game quickly meaning that weak early game window is far smaller this time around.

Like I said, might be replying to the wrong person. I'll correct myself.

Whether that means playing a champ that has a strong early game, such as the ones that Jamaree listed, or hopefully getting your JG to help you get kills on him with smart wave management (As Nasus often has the safest time farming his stacks under his own turret, forcing him to come OUT of that safe zone makes him VERY vulnerable), or some other method that hasn't already been mentioned, whatever works, you pretty much have to go with.

Name a late game champ that has a weak early game. They are rather rare in this day and age.

Still, Bramble Vest on a duelist is all you need to artificially give him a weak lane phase again.

His literal only weakness is a godlike jax or illaoi. I'd say darius but he needs that movespeed. Illaoi doesn't give a shit about her legs or arms since she just needs cdr to cuck slap him. Although she has no cc so she just survives the laning phase.

Riot will never think "is infinite stacking damage okay" No..no it's fucking not..

I think infinite stacking damage is okay, as long as there is the trade-off of a weak early game.

Right now, Nasus and Veigar simply don't have that trade-off. They are both too strong, all of the time, and it progressively gets worse as the game goes on. They need to do something about both of those champs.

I always thought that Nasus was strong against Illaoi because can't he stack his Q on the tentacles? I mean as far as fighting 1v1, I can see Illaoi easily winning it, but Nasus usually doesn't care about fighting some one 1v1 but just stacking Q until he can outscale them or until mid game.

ggigotfed1 votes

I think he can but he has to risk her pulling his soul which spawns 3 more and getting hit by a Q. Illaoi keeps people away from her tentacles pretty well. Plus he might lose more farm running off for a tentacle.

Dark Nephthys1 votes

yea that's true. Though I feel that Illaoi can't fully stop him from farming his Q to well. She can zone him and slow him down a bit but with the way her tentacles work, they'll push the wave to Nasus's tower and Nasus has no problems farming under his tower. While she can pull his soul out from under his tower and deal some decent damage, I feel it probably wouldn't be enough to really scare him off, especially since Nasus has built in life steal and it would be suicide for her to attempt to tower dive him unless your jungler is there.

Though I don't play Illaoi, and Nasus is by far my most hated champion so I generally perma ban him when I go top so I wouldn't know that match up. But you do have a point, I could see experienced Illaoi players probably having no problem with him.

Her healing along with she almost always buys a cleaver and steraks gauge or a deathsdance lets her dive really well and outsustain him. But nothing every fully stops a nasus, he will always gets stacks. It's just a matter of when. You farm him early he takes so much longer to start stacking, meanwhile he's stacking you're already at mid inhib.

I've actually found a really really strong counterpick against nasus. I've never lost to him using this strategy......Wait for it......I ban him.

Hauling Ashe1 votes

But you've never beaten him with that strategy either. Can't you see? OP champion!

Full Tank Jesus1 votes

There's 5 bans, that's more than enough to catch a nasus. Just ban him if he's worth a board post. Or...And I might be crazy.... Play him!

My post was satire.
