Riot... We need comeback mechanics besides stupidity

Here are some suggestions.

Suggestion 1: Remove home guards from the game. Give the homeguard buff to the team with the least amount of structures after 15 minutes(this might need some changes as a commenter pointed out that it could be exploited so ignore this suggestion for now)

Suggestion 2: Turrets now drop "Material". A player must go and pick up the "material" which gets put in his inventory. The player now can reinforce any turret by rightclicking a turret and use the "material" to give that turret extra defenses.

This way you can still do fast early pushes, but players on the loosing end can then reinforce other turrets in other lanes to avoid loosing more turrets as fast.

I don't think there should be a comeback mechanic at all, really. If your mistakes get capitalized on, why should you be rewarded for that?

I hope you realize that there are more comeback options now than before?

  1. Bounties give global gold. If you focus the players with the bounties, you can help your team get back into the game easier.
  2. Herald spawns at 4:00 and respawns every 5 minutes. By having another major objective on the map pre-20 minutes, this means that you can trade herald buff for dragon stacks or vice versa. You can also snowball off of objectives better. Herald also gives global gold. Having the herald buff makes it much harder for the enemy to team siege one specific lane as long as the player with the buff is defending that lane.
  3. The game pace is alot faster now so if you picked a late game scaling champ, you're able to reach your powerspike sooner. This is especially true on AD champions due to the new items/itemization buffs.
  4. Turrets get tankier as the game gets longer. Its going to be increasingly difficult for the enemy to turret siege if you protect them.
  5. "Ambient" gold is higher now so you're able to round up alot more gold even if ur behind.
  6. Minions are worth more gold early in the game compared to before. You get rewarded heavily for farming well.

to answer a few things 1.there will be a home guard at 20 min next patch(if it remains on the pbe) 2.material idea sounds nice but -the amount of defences can't be high -should stack up to 3(as a counterbalance) -last for a limited time

I don't believe any active comeback mechanics should exist. I also don't believe any active snowball mechanics should exist.

I think that any team should only be able to press their advantages from being up in gold, levels, map control and objectives. Nothing else.

Suggestion 1 would be a really bad idea IMO. There would be a huge disincentive to kill a tower in a close game. (I could take this low health outer turret, but then we would lose homeguards, I'd rather have access to homeguard TP plays). It just doesn't make sense to punish a team for doing well/coming back. Also least structures isnt' necessarily a good metric for who is winning. One team could be focused on getting dragons/kills while the other takes more outer/inner towers. If the team with the dragons has a big gold lead, they should be able to push towers and win eventually, and having the free homeguard buff will reduce the effectiveness of the losing team's splitpushing/rotations.

Easy solution to this problem"

Play Dominion.

It isn't a broken cluster-fuck of a map like Rift.

Alright, for you players who don't understand patch 5.22 in the community, I'm going to make something clear: Yes, I agree that comebacks in the game are much harder to obtain BUT , the game is played alot differently now. Lanes revolve around killing each more to get an advantage so you can take the turret earlier. The jungler needs to pressure the map earlier the game to snowball lanes/secure objectives like dragon/herald (keep in mind, herald > dragon because it can snowball a game faster). Champion picks revolve around picking something that has higher dmg (ADCs/Bruisers are ALOT more prevalent in this meta).

That being said, at LOWER ELOS (bronze, silver, and gold), players are notorious for playing passive. If you are one of these players, you are playing the meta wrong and you haven't adapted to the patch. This patch caters to aggressive players that group up earlier in the game. And yes, its true that these players have a higher learning curve for this patch. Simply watch high elo streams and copying them won't help until you understand the little nuances of that elo. You don't just give up objectives for free. You learn to trade objectives. If they take dragon, you take herald/baron and vice-versa.

Downvote me all you'd like. Its not my problem that you guys are struggling to adapt to the meta. I'm here to help players that want my help. Not the ignorant idiots that complain about their elo but haven't gotten the necessary skills to climb.

You do know that the turrets being weaker makes it easier to comeback right?
