Silver Serpent GP farming Calculations

Hello I wanted to help shed some light about how statistically he can gain and how much get so he can empowever his ultimate.

To keep it "realistic"

I am assuming he puts 1 point into parley first and then 1 point in every ability afterward and then max out parrley at level 8

To be "unrealistic"

I also assume that GP is Bjergsen and will also lasthit every minion with Parrley somehow for simplicity

The max last hit for 4 creepwaves is 25cs

This means if he lasthit them all with parley he has 25cs x 4 = 100 silver serpents

He will now gain 5 per parrley and to get to level 5 he needs 2 more waves which means at he can max get 13 minions

Level 1-4: 25cs x 4 = 100 silver serpents Level 4- 5: 13cs x 5 = 65 silver TOTAL: 38cs = 165 silver serpents

He gains his third rank which means 6 per plunder and he needs 6 waves to get to level 7 because he takes his ult at 6. 6 waves = 31 minnions

Level 5 to 7

31 x 6 = 186 silver serpents New total: 165 SS + 186 SS = 357 silver serpents Total perfect CS = 69

Level 7 to 8

3 waves = 19 minions 19cs X 7 = 133 Silver serpent

New total: 357 + 133 = 490 SS Total perfect CS: 88

Level 8 to 9

4 waves: = 26 minions 26 cs x 8 = 208 Silver serpent

New total: 490 SS + 208 SS = 698 Silver Serpent. Perfect CS: 114

And we are 10 minutes into the game.

Level 9 to 11

44 cs X 8 = 352 silver serpents New total: 352 SS + 698 SS = 1050 perfect CS: 158

Level 16:

160 CS X 8 = 1280 Silver serpents new total: 1050 + 1280 = 2280 silver serpents.

Perfect CS score 318

As you can see even if you would perfectly CS with parrley all the way to level 16 you would only be able to buy 4 and a half upgrade which is crazy.'

So if we factor for human error, cooldowns, mana constraints, teamfights and poking and remove Bjergsen from the equation, I would assume an avarage GP would parrley 50- 75% of the time the minions with clever keg usage, hydra, stattikk shiv.

Which would result in all from

2280 : 2 = 1140 silver serpents if you Lasthit with Parrley 50% of the time with perfect 310 CS at level 16. This means can get 2 upgrades.

2280 : 75% = 1710 Silver serpents if you lasthit with parrley 75% of the time with perfect 310 CS at level 16. This means you will get all 3 upgrades.

This is 26 minutes into the game.

Average game time on Summoners rift is 30 - 45 Minutes so yeah you can drag this long, but I think in realistic terms you will probably not get all three upgrades.

So should they decrease the cost of the upgrades or is the price right?

While these might not be updated I have used these as the source for my numbers. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Last_hit http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Experience_(champion)

There are only three upgrades.

I think it's perfectly fine that a GP player might not have the ability to upgrade them all before 30 minutes, and might have to actually make choices about which upgrades he wishes to purchse.

All I am afraid of is that riot has put this to into his powerbudget thinking that it is possible for him to achieve this with current numbers every game and or if this is intentional to make it this hard to reach all three upgrades.

You need to remember last hits with E also proc Parrley and give bonus gold + Silver Serpents. Getting at least two upgrades every game is easy, and the third will likely be gotten in almost every game that isn't a complete stomp.

I know about the keg as I did say in my post

"I would assume an avarage GP would parrley 50- 75% of the time the minions with clever keg usage, hydra, stattikk shiv."

I dont have good ping while I play on the PBE so I avoid playing normals there so there is some left up to playtesting.

It is likely intentional as each upgrade is a vast powerspike. I mean, one gives you a sizable true damage nuke in the center for god sake Cx

yup, it deals "a cluster's worth of damage as true damage" and each "Cluster" is three of the 12 waves, so it deals 150/210/270 (+45% AP) true damage.

The Ally movement speed is a great engage/disengage, and the enhanced rate of Fire increases the total damage by 50% if you can keep them inside for the full duration

Fully upgraded it deals 900/1260/1620 (+270% AP) magic damage plus the initial 150/210/270 (+45% AP) true damage nuke. If your team can keep them inside the AoE for most of the duration, you can easily kill off several enemies while being a map away. Also, AP GP is still totally viable :D

They said in a red post he's not meant to get all 3, though in VERY long games he should, and by very long i mean (45-60mins).

For SR, the price is right.

Because the upgrades stack, you can even do all three over the course of a long enough game.

It's intentioal that he won't always get all 3 upgrades, and i think thats good so.

You will ususally get atleast 2 upgrades befor the lategame, and still be able to get all 3 upgrades in most games.

However, for other maps it looks quite different, as the average cs as well as gametime is far lower in other modes...

They'll probably do a buff for TT and Dominion where the bonus effects are weaker but also cost fewer silver serpents (like 300 a pop but only at 2/3rds the effectiveness of SR

GP can instaclear an entire wave with his powder kegs so that's fine.

its K*

So basically you are suggesting that making GP players have to farm minions to get to his strongest state is a bad thing?

And that his max potential is only something that most players will be able to reach in a game that last 40+ minutes?

We don't know his overall power spike but given another chap that is somewhat like the new GP Kha has had periods where he has been able t ofunction great without needing 3 upgrades I don't think this is going to be to much of an issue for GP

Even if you only got 66% of all the creeps in your lane with Q, you would still get all three upgrades by level 16, not even considering that you can also get silver serpents off of champion and monster kills. Also, his new E applies Parrrley's gold bonus if used on it which means it is exceedingly easy to set up a few creeps and get all 6-7 creeps in a wave with a single Q now. On top of that, GPs design is supposed to be a melee carry/duelist/splitpusher, and a split pusher has a much easier time achieving high CS counts than most roles because overtime a wave pushes in he can roam to it and pick up several waves at once before moving to another lane. 66% of 318 CS is only 210 CS with Parrrrley, which is not that difficult if you practice with him and use your E>Q combo effectively (think about it this way, that's equivalent to getting 630 stacks as Nasus with the added benefit of being able to do so in an AoE).

If you get that good that you can get 210 Q CS by level 16, you're also banking an extra ~1500 odd gold to boot, or upwards of 2000 gold if you use an Avarice blade for most of the match (which gangplank can pull off reliably)

Don't forget, if he q's a powder Keg, and that said keg kills the minion wave, he will get a silver serpent for each minion killed by the keg explosion.

Like many have said, its entirely intentional that getting all the upgrades will require a lot of time. For GP, those upgrades are additions. They help him, but he's not overly impacted by not having one either. This is best compared to Viktor, who NEEDS to have his Hextech core maxed out. Its the core (badum tish) of his strength, the power around which his kit revolves.

Wait so if Gangplank kills minions with barrels >> parrley combo, does he still get the serpents from those? If not, then I've been playing GP very retardedly. (Up until reading this thread, I thought he got silver serpents from CSing by any means necessary. Holy crap, I'm a failure. :/ )

Sorry for the necro, but this was literally the #1 thread for this on Google that wasn't the old League forum.
