So is 8.9 (next patch) just S3 early s4 all over again?

Nerfs to mages, mid assassins left alone, zed buffed 3-4 patches in a row, fizz and talon getting some love, ADCs getting "adjusted" (intended nerf). Mana problems for mages is new though. Kassadin getting a small buff. Supports nerfed slowly over time.

Feels like De'ja vu. (Riot like "WHAT the assassins are strong again?? How could this have happened we definitely didn't slowly push them back into relevance...!!! Who did this!??")

they overlap more, except theres all kinds of new things like more heroes and reworked heroes, tons of polishing, keystones and more that i'm not thinking of.

had all these things new been there back then it likely would have stayed longer. riot had an identity finding phase and I think they found that things weren't all that bad back then.
