Jayce's whole rank 6 abilities certainly make his curve different from others, seeing as his "ultimate" is always available. I'm trying my hand at it with the above concept link (please review, BTW).
Will that whole 6/6/6/1 thing be Jayce-exclusive, or can we see it in the future? My above Champion Concept could benefit from it in more than just a gameplay sense (Sign of the Beast anyone?).

I don't really see a reason for it. It doesn't really add anything to the game other than "no one else does it!" which is also really dulled for Jayce if someone else were to do it.
What it seems to do to champ kits is end up really discouraging putting a point into your third ability until really late in the game so that your base damage of your best two abilities keeps scaling up faster. You keep that stronger power curve where you're leveling up your main ability for 2 levels longer, but that also means you're missing out on the huge power spike at 6 that most champions have.
darkdill1 votesThe issue for Jayce was that people found it was a trap to put points into his ultimate because all it did was modify how many stats he got while in Hammer Form, so pros would simply max out his R last. It was changed to the current system to avoid the whole "trap leveling" thing.
