OP.GG says that my MMR is normal? can I understand what is happening here. all of the sudden this started a cpl days ago. I lost like 3 game sin a row but then I won 2 in a row and you know I had worse streaks before like losing 15 or so in a row but even then I started gaining 19-18 lp. not going from 20-21 lp to 17 over 3 game loss streak or so. I mean this is just weird. I understand how this works. my winrate is 51%

I actually don't understand that myself. My guess is that you are losing against teams that have the lower MMR. The only thing I can do is tell you how to fix your MMR if you want.

That's not at all how it works...
Normal MMR for a given division sees a typical gain per win of 20-24. And a loss of 13-16. Getting any less MMR than 20 in a win means your MMR is deflated for the given division. Getting any more MMR than 25 for a win means your MMR is inflated relative to the division.
Also, op.gg confirms your MMR is slightly lower than average for the division. Gold 5 is roughly 1500 MMR. You are below that. You have an MMR- of about 55 at the moment.
Additionally, 10 wins over .500 is usually the point at which a player reaches gold 5. You are less than 10 wins over .500. The system is working properly according to its algorithms, the gains and losses you are seeing are normal for your MMR. Nothing strange to see here, you just don't understand how the system works very well. At least ya learned something today. Hope it helps in the future.
Sahn Uzal1 votesThe team on redside of the map has the higher MMR, so if you lose a game on Redside you'll lose more LP than you would when playing on blue side. So that propably explains that :P

Sahn Uzal1 votesThe team with the higher MMR is always playing on the red side. AFAIK it has always been like that. Statistically, the team on redside is better than the team on blue side, which is why you would lose more LP if you lose a game from redside

There was originally a slight discrepancy in the win/loss from sides largely due to the camera angle and first pick of bans. To combat this the team MMR on blue side is artificially inflated. Because the blue side has an higher adjusted MMR the red side generally has people with higher individual MMR to make the team MMR approx. the same. The new iteration of MMR is calculated from the adjusted MMR and consequently the new iteration of LP is calculated on the adjust MMR.
