Bard is a waste of IP. EGO tells me I can make him great. Shut up EGO.

I want to play him cause I keep thinking there is strategic potential there that is untapped. But there are too many nay sayers with grounded opinions to brush off. I have seen some decent Bard players but still in low numbers and I still beat them out of lane playing support. Strategically I am better than my rank but because of rank and this being the Internet it isn't always easy to get people on board with a plan that they didn't devise.

I have enough IP for Bard and Ekko when he comes out. EKKO will get the shit played out of him and then he will be a pick\ban till they nerf him so I am not worried about grabbing him off the shelf as soon as he comes out. I just wish Riot gave me a reason to Play Bard. I wish I had of played him on a free week.

Not going to waste 6300 IP on a whim and chance. Sorry, Ego. You will have to wait for Riot to buff him.

His ult is garbage.

I will cut you if I am on ADC and you use that crap ass ult on me and screw up my positiong.

His ult is way too situational and slow even when using it at point blank range. Sometimes I want to ult an enemy turret to secure a turret dive but then I think of all that time the enemy has to get inside of my ult because it moves so slowly. Half the time these dives fail because the enemy has enough time to get inside the circle nullifying the dive.

The amount of times you can land a "clutch ult" is slim and to me it really depends how little the enemy team is paying attention to a huge gold circle on the ground. Use it to catch someone? They can walk out of it with plenty of time to spare. Use it to dive a turret? Very easy to get inside of it. Use it on their backline in a teamfight? Again it doesn't take a mechanical god to get out of it and worse comes to worse they can flash it.

I hate that they want to give everything "counterplay" by giving huge visuals and long cast time. Like cmon. It would be acceptable if it landed as fast as it took for Veigar's cage to appear. Right now it's way too easy to play around.

Riot did buff him, he's actually pretty good now but people got such a bad first impression they still won't be happy to see him on their team.

That makes him less popular than Teemo. That is saying something.

I messed around with him some yesterday, he was pretty fun.

I think a lot of the problem is that people try to use his ult on the enemy tanks in a teamfight then dive after the carry's, instead of using it on their carry's just as the fights starting and then using that time to neuter the tanks and ruin the carry's positioning.

Even tanks drop pretty fast when 5 people can turn on them without any fear of retaliation. We won many fights by having me trap their ADC/APC in an ult right as their tank went in, then kiting the tank way out of range where anyone could follow up on his initiation.

Because the Ult doesnt last THAT long, if their tanks are really tanks, their adc's will be up before you kill those tanks. Often.

You don't kill the tanks in that time, you ruin their positioning so the damage dealers either can't contribute or blow up when they try. Removing the damage threat until after their tanks have blown their lockdown and giving your team 3 seconds to position to take out their carries in the mean time is kind of a huge deal.

He is still widely regarded as bad amongst more mechanically skilled supports than myself, still having high elo (master and challenger) players saying he has potential, but he is either too easily countered if he is played correctly, or relies too much on your team playing around him.

Like the OP, my ego tells me I can make him work, but the reality is, while the "not working" is my fault plenty, I don't think him not working this time is all on me, and he just isn't fun enough to put in the work for, when I can just play someone much "easier" and do well right now.

It's unlikely that they will buff him. If they do, it won't be anything big. He's a high skill cap support that takes a lot of getting used to in timings and teamwork. His ult is amazing and can create a winning teamfight, catch people running, delay pick comps, save towers, create tower dives, etc. He'll probably get some action this time around in LCS.

I wouldn't bet on it. The LCS supports are still actively saying they don't like him, sharing their win rates trying to improve with him on twitter as their attempts at examples of how bad he is (Lustboy I believe is still sitting at a 10-15% win rate with him last I checked, and he is one of the only Western supports who doesn't trash talk the champion currently).

Most supports in the LCS currently don't seem willing to bother with him, and the one (as I said, Lustboy is the only one who has said he wants to play him) that likes him, still says he isn't very strong compared to most current Meta supports.

It's easy as hell to catch people out of position or stop people running away with his ult, and he has a 2-man stun on a like 6 second cd or whatever it is. He's slippery af and it's incredibly easy to set things up with him just by running away from people. His heal is kind of weak but you can set up 3 of them, essentially refresh the mana cost with chimes, and it's also a speed boost .

tl;dr: he's great at setting things up, chasing, and escaping

But most think "omg he's just gonna keep ulting me and getting me killed" and dodge when they see him picked

Once ekko gets into ranked he will get brutally raped in low elo by Annie and high elo by cassi, zed, lb, diana. He is not op just really really high skill cap

You need a VoIP connection with at minimum your ADC for him to be decent, then he shines. I've noticed that in jungle fights Bards actually pose a decent threat, and if they place their health packs intelligently, some ADCs can hold solo while he runs around after shiny things.

Hes pretty good right now. just people waiting on what to build on him and how to play him.

He really isn't that bad, The amount of decent bards will grow overtime, and the ones I do see who are good have been really amazing at him.

Team champ.

Don't take him into solo-queue if you know what's good for you. You'll only hate your teammates ten times more than normal.
