We need to talk about "matchmaking adjustments."

In concept, "matchmaking adjustment" is a good idea. You get to ease yourself into new champions and roles thanks to lesser competition. But when a diamond/platinum makes it into a match where no one on either team is higher than silver, that's not balanced. On quite a few occasions, I've lost a match simply because that player, who lucked into facing us thanks to "matchmaking adjustment," tore through us all like paper.

Like last match, the other team had a Diamond 4 Riven who was 13/1/1 when we surrendered at 20 minutes (http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1919327674/219119546?tab=overview). Keep in mind that the "matchmaking adjustment" was also supposed to be in effect for me... the Bronze 5. So apparently it thought I needed to go up against a Diamond 4 Riven in my 10th match with Lulu.

Honestly, the "matchmaking adjustment" almost always gives me tougher, not easier, competition. Anytime it's active for me and I head over to OP.GG to check the Team MMR comparison, it seems we're always at least 100 MMR behind the opposing team. Oftentimes that balloons to 200+ MMR behind, with people like this Riven showing up.

So can we maybe, I don't know, tone down the "matchmaking adjustment" to make it so people aren't facing players a full two tiers above/below them? Is that so much to ask?

Wow, that is extremely unfair. What an unfun experience that must've been for you and your team. How the hell does a Diamond 5 get paired up with 2 Bronze and low Silver players? I could understand the Diamond Riven could have queued with a friend or something, but still, that doesn't make it right. Nor fun!

Ouch, that sucks. Sorry that none of them give enough of a crap to actually fix that issue. Gnar

you do know that normal MMR =/= ranked MMR right?
