Kazekiba2 votesRiot's said the AP Bruiser itemization and item shop cleanup isn't likely to happen before Preseason. And considering most of Season 9's preseason changes were in 9.2, it could be quite a while.
However, we've already seen a number of WIP items - Gadgeteer's Wrench and a catch-all Support item called Spellthief's Ring, in addition to Spellthief's Edge being changed to Adaptive Force instead of AP. There's a few more items, though, and which ones are "Playtest items" and which are potential updates only Riot knows.
There's one with Sion's R as its icon, Atma's Reckoning (both listed as MR items, among whatever other stats they may have) and an item that resembles Stinger but red - Perhaps these may be AP Bruiser items

Jaspers1 votesIs the main issue with AP Bruiser/Fighter itemisation the fact they lack CDR with the bonus HP AD versions get? Trinity and BC have HP and CDR and other good passives for auto attack based champs allowing bruisers to build into their defensive items after while AP lack an item that gives that much in 1. No AP item has 20% CDR and HP. If they add a AP item that does, would this help?

Poske1 votes25% Magic pen is there so that his dmg stays constant through a game Else his damage would get lower as the game goes on and he would be forced to buy a voidstaff due to how OP it is but now he ll be able to build more of bruiser items not that there are any bruiser AP items XD.
