Garen's early game is being pretty significantly nerfed. His ability to stick with Judgment is being nerfed, his base damages on it are being nerfed, his silence duration is being nerfed, he no longer gets the bonus armour from his W to help him tank her damage by starting cloth/5 (which might become a nonviable start for him now, due to the nerfing of the aforementioned base damages), he doesn't get free tenacity anymore, and literally the only way to make use of his most significant buffs (the true damage) will be through Riven getting kills. Most of the changes to Garen are actually nerfs, and the biggest buff won't apply unless Riven is already killing you in lane, lol.
So no, Garen's ability to beat the shit out of Riven is either seriously diminished or gone. Coupled with the fact that armour is being nerfed, and it's not looking good for him.

KnighRrider1 votesIts funny, like half the ppl I see complaining about Riven on these forums have a Teemo summoner icon xD Also Darius has always been difficult for me to lane against with Riven and so has Garen actually(since he can trade for days). But I wont complain xD if it makes ppl happy idc, its yall's fault u aint play'n Riven's counters anyway!

Only Play Darius1 votesBoth their early games got gutted, and a good Riven already just outjukes both of them and wins lane anyway (especially Darius, since he doesn't have a silence and no mobility to catch up with her.)
