I absolutely hate it when people

declare they are going to do an off meta pick, and I ask them kindly not too. And they still do it anyway.

Example: my last non-ranked game. I was going bot lane. My support declares their intent with Miss Fortune, and says "MF support hell yeah! :D"

I said "please don't," and he locked it in anyway, saying MF support is good and to just "trust him."

[sg-ahri-3]

Any time someone says "just trust me," when they do something like that- EVERY DAMN TIME, THEY FEED TO HELL.

Was the same with this MF. I'm just glad I didn't die before we surrendered early.

Why do you people do this? It's not fun, and ruins people's games especially if it's a ranked one, and then people lose LP because you are a jerk (no offense but you are). I want to call you more obscene stuff but I'm going to be polite here.

Take your stupid non meta stuff in your custom games. Not normals or ranked. There is no place for that in them.

Why don't you flame your premade Ornn?

I agree with the OP. It's very frustrating when someone does things like that.

And for Pete's sake, stop downvoting him and attacking him for playing something that isn't really off meta to begin with. That's just rude and mean.

Sheesh. Sometimes I think the boards are more toxic than flamers in game.

Complaining about nonmeta in normals...

I'd still be maining support AP Nasus in ranked if it wasn't for the absolute shitshow bot lane balance in the game right now.

For some reason I misread your title as "I absolutely hate white people" hehe xd.

To be fair, picking off-meta as one of the two people in bot lane actually does hurt the other person you're playing with if you're bad at it. Pick off-meta in other roles all day long if you want, but bot lane should at least be coordinated.

I am in silver so I gave up all hope for a meta team. It's always you and four trollpicks vs the double tank comp.

I just play Ezreal or Ahri adc now when they troll me. Atleast I am going to enjoy the game instead of being blown up on my beloved kog every second.

Phoenix just trolling. Everyone knows it was only picked in one series to counter Zyra bot Lane. It requires an entire team set up around d it. That as also a different season and meta. It is completely a troll pick.

Humbly disagree - I have 3 reasons for you:

1.) Meta exploration happens at the highest levels of gameplay, and can set trends and lead to a unique game experience. Case in point, Look at Ezreal in the jungle. That all started by someone experimenting with an off-meta pick. It's critical that this possibility not be denied, or the game will get stale to many players.

2.) It's not your place to decide what your teammates get to pick. Plain and simple. If you have a problem with what a player is going to play, then it's your job to leave the game. Unfortunately, you just don't get to decide what everyone plays - and there will always be someone wanting to try something different.

3.) There is a fine line between 'trolling' and 'playing an off-meta pick' .. I feel like based on your post, you don't understand the difference between the two. Saying someone is trolling you is definitely report-worthy and something that you can get in trouble for. Picking a champion that isn't designed for a role is encouraged and supported. Make sure you understand the difference.

The natural conclusion of asking pick intent to be punished is for Riot to lock champions into roles in champ select.

Oh man, I've been a support main for three years now, and boy did I dump all over people as MF support. Got my M7 quicker on her than Sona, actually. I still play her support if I get an APC in bot lane that way we can take towers faster. If you need to control other players that much, bot lane is not for you. You have to have the emotional fortitude to allow others to play the game the way they want, not how you want. I think one of the best lessons this game can teach you is how to stay positive in the face of adversity, because your frustration with your support is in your control and yours to manage. Support your team members pick and your positive attitude has a much better chance at winning. I've won with all kinds of weird ADCs like Swain, mordekaiser, nasus, syndra, and garen because I know I'm a good enough support to win that lane even if they are struggling with their pick.
