Can one match get you banned?

I admit that I'm toxic and I've tried to improve on that but I just got hit with my 3rd ban after just coming off ban a couple of weeks ago, I literally haven't been reported once since I came off my last ban, now in my last game I got frustrated and cursed a lot but only one person reported me. I got an email with my entire chat log from that match saying that I was banned because of it, I just felt like getting reported once in the last two weeks wasn't really grounds for me being banned.

Is there some way to appeal bans? I know Riot usually doesn't lift bans so I guess it'd be pointless but I've been doing a lot better since I came off my last ban, as far as I'm aware nobody reported me until just recently and it's been at least 2-3 weeks.

There's no way for you to know this. You don't get a notification every time you are reported, only if you get a bunch of reports in a short time.

now in my last game I got frustrated and cursed a lot but only one person reported me.

There's no way for you to know that either. Also, it's irrelevant, since Riot does not count multiple reports against you in the same match.

You don't get a two week ban for one game unless it's really bad. Their new system sends you the "straw the broke the camel's back" game, but it looks at everything that's been going on with your account recently.

If you got a long ban recently then you're on a pretty short leash. So yes, in that case a handful of reported games might be enough to earn you another ban. If you don't show improvement, the next one might be permanent.

Well, you can't really appeal when you admit to being toxic.

If you have been banned repeatedly, chances are their patience with you is low and you dont get the leeway everyone else gets

How do you know that you were only reported in that game?

Most people who report players that they perceive as negative/toxic don't actually say "reported" or anything like that, they just report and move on. (I also seem to recall Riot saying that most people who do say "reported" in-game don't actually report.)

If you've been warned about your behavior before, and even banned for it, why shouldn't they ban you again for repeating the same behavior?
