LoL has been pushed from a tactical-strategical game to a fast-paced kill-push-repeat game and I think it is really hard to swallow this hard pill (well, it is hard for me) but the real problem is that drakes and those enourmous, dangerous-looking killing machines called "turrets" are, in reality, made of paper. You have been in the game for 7 minutes, you die at a wrong time when the enemy laner has a few minions and boom, the enemy team has destroyed the first turret. Are you playing WW, Fiddle or Shyvana? Are you lvl3 with almost no items at all? No problem, solo that drake. Turrets fall too fast and deal too little damage compared to other similar MOBA games (except Smite maybe, because Smite turrets have got ridiculously low health and deal almost no damage after lvl4-5, BUT objectives like the Fire Giant and the Gold Fury are much more dangerous than drakes and barons in LoL), not to mention the ability to dive without any risk at lvl3 with a bunch of champions. Faster paced fights on lane means that you either die or kill faster, sometimes in 0.5-1.5 seconds, and that means you can kill the enemy under their own turret. I think turrets should fire their bullets faster when an enemy champion is under that certain turret. These bullets should deal less damage but the faster firing would help against those heavy divers (especially the ones with different shields like Yasuo or dashes/blinks like LeBlanc, Zed or Ahri).
I like the faster pace of the fights, where you have to outplay and react just in a milisecond or you die, but I hate the faster pace of the game. Riot keeps posting about this and they say that the average game length has fallen only by a few seconds, but I can't believe it. I remember playing 60-70-minutes-long games back in early 2016, but nowadays all you have to do is lane for 5 minutes and by that time you can tell which team is going to win by the end of the 20th minute with a 80% certainty. Maybe it is because of this snowball-friendly meta and the OP-ness of AD, but the match gets either 20vs0 or 0vs20 by the end of the first 15 minutes.
