Everyone's crying about a high damage meta, everyone's crying about exhaust supressing damage
High damage meta, and thing that lowers damage, both being cried about at the same time

To be fair damage being this high across the board indirectly makes exhaust stronger.
The ironic thing is that exhaust gives +10 lethality to your entire team.
People get sick and tired of seeing exhaust, so they want it nerfed.
But what they don't realize is, once Riot tackles the damage creep problem, Exhaust isn't going to be such a strong pickup.
tired of seeing exhaust
tired of exhaust
tired
exhaust
So you could say people are exhausted of seeing it?
Out now

I'm sick and tired of seeing Flash but that isn't ever getting nerfed...
...because it's become such a fundamental part of the game. And, it has been nerfed in the past (all the way back in season 1 or before I believe). Any changes to it would have drastic consequences, most of which not any one person could ever see coming.
Also, Flash, and the Summoner's Rift map *, are 2 constants (things that never change) in the game that anyone can truly master. You change either one, even in the slightest, and the consequences could be huge.
* When I say "the map", I actually mean the layout of the map, not turrets, or jungle creep. I mean the placement of bushes and walls, etc.

Comparing Flash nerfs to altering the map layout is a bit of a stretch. It's not THAT big of a deal. Plus season 1 is a long time ago and you really can't say definitively that Flash is what makes League League. We haven't seen any nerfs tested for it on the PBE so we can't say for sure that nerfs would be detrimental to the game (my guess is they most likely wouldn't). I would personally like to see its cooldown nerfed.
Yes, Flash isn't what makes League, League; but you would be surprised at how much of an impact just a simple cooldown nerf on it would have.
People have been complaining that junglers are far too dominant right now, and you know what counters that dominance? Flash. Its already a given tactic to gank someone twice in short succession, once to blow their flash, and twice to get the kill (since they don't have flash). You nerf Flash's CD, and that makes jungle dominance all that more prevalent. Instead of ganking twice, the jungler might be able to pull off a third gank while you still don't have flash. Sure, this can be done currently, but it would become common practice if you nerf Flash's CD.
Also, Flash is the only summoner in the game that is perfectly balanced for both offense and defense. The only other summoner that comes close to it is Ghost. If you nerf the CD on it, people will use it more defensively than offensively, since it becomes an even more valuable spell. Any team that is reliant on a Flash + (insert champ ability here) to initiate would have its effectiveness reduced ALOT. An entire team comp would essentially disappear. Any champ that is reliant on a flash combo (I.e. Annie) would see a massive drop in winrate that won't really ever come back up until the flash nerf is reversed.
You would also see a general increase in kills across the board. Flashing over a wall to get out of a sticky situation is probably how flash is used the most. You nerf the CD, and you have fewer times when you can escape those situations, meaning you would die more. More kills means more gold, and more gold means more snowball potential. The game is already really snowbally as is, and nerfing the CD on Flash means any champ reliant on snowballing can do so that much more easily.
This only lists a few things, and I'm certain there are many, MANY more implications that just a simple CD nerf would have on the game. Yes, Flash isn't what makes League, League; but it has become so fundamental to the game that, yes, one could compare it to altering the layout of the map.
Different people complaining about different things.
What do you mean different people? Like you mean to imply Boards is not single bitching person? But then we'd lost all those topics complaining about other people complaining.
No shit the boards are not a single bitching person. However, the OP believes that the same people are complaining about two opposite things, thus making them contradict themselves. Ralnr's point is that there are actually different people that have different opinions, hence why the boards are able to complaining about both exhaust and high damage at the same time.
He's being sarastic
Me, I'm just crying about the fact that the enemies usually have the 66% overkill required to just nuke me down through my Exhaust.
Then, sir, please stop trying to 1v5 as a 1/17
and
. Hell, ya' might even want to stop trying to 5v1 if you're 1/17.
More like trying to 1v1 a 1/7/4
as a 7/0/4
with
.
IF damage wasn't so high then people wouldn't have as much reason to complain about exhaust. The only reason that people are is because exhaust can win you the fight by removing the enemy nuke, while you still have your nuke.
Supports are supposed to take exhaust for a reason…
Supports are supposed to take exhaust for a reason…
Damage wasn't this high S1, and supports still took exaust, noone complained about it then.
I do believe that that's because people were whining about something else in S1.
My point in that other comment is that if both sides neutralize the other side's nuke, neither side has a nuke. Ergo, both sides still have the same stuff.
When damage is everything, the only true hard counter to damage becomes op too. It makes sense. In a world of one-shot or be one-shotted, exhaust decides the fight.
And nobody connects Exhaust as being the biggest counter play to lethality. This is why ignite on supports doesn't work.
If only exhaust cast range could be used on them hitting people from 1000 yards away
It has more range that the average ranged auto attack. You can exhaust just about anybody before they can get their main damage off, unless you're CCed.
different problems.
doesnt just reduce enemy damage, but amplifies damage against the target aswell, due to the resistance reduction.
so increase damage reduction and remove Resistance lowering?
The problem with exhaust is linked to the high damage meta. If you're exhausted you'll be one shot before you even have a chance to retaliate in this meta and effectively eliminates one player from the fight on a relatively short cool down
All corki mid has to do is bring exhaust and all in when it's cool down is up. The only counter to exhaust is bringing it yourself. Kind of like how TP was nerfed because the only way to counter its effectiveness was to bring TP yourself.
It's because people assume their opinion is the majority opinion just because they come to the boards, where people with a negative idea or something to complain about gather. Its an illusion of majority and people dont seem to understand the couple hundred active boards members do not represent the majority.
YES YES YES YES YES Omfg YES The boards is let's say 1k? out of millions of players. Most of the boards users are the outspoken ones. Ugh it's so annoying.
That is what I said but the people on this forum will bitch about any microscopic thing in the game.
Exhaust stats:
Exhausts target enemy champion, Slow icon slowing and Slow icon crippling them by 30%, reducing their armor and magic resistance by 10, and their damage dealt by 40% for 2.5 seconds.
The problem with Exhaust is it's brain dead with no counter play. The spell itself is too loaded. Does it really need to slow movement, slow attack speed, lower armor, lower magic resist, and lower your damage? Wouldn't just the Slow and less damage be enough?

Its fine as it is. No one complain about it before. Its just because damage is too retarded now that you can actually notice it stopping all the damage.
Fix the stupid damage creep and
is fixed too.
Why wouldn't you want to take it with how stupid the game has gotten that everyone 1 shots everyone?
It's almost as if there are 2 different groups complaining about different things and the internet doesn't share 1 brain.
Probably differ groups of people.
Though i do find it funny, that the fights and burst have become so fucking fast, that people are complaining about the duration of exhaust.
Despite the fact that it really didn't use to be all that powerful, because of the duration of team fights. It was often more important to use it on a target who was using their burst, delay the damage of a fed opponent, or help nullify an ult. NOT remove someone from a team fight.
Exhaust also reduces armor and magic resist.
Extremely high damage in the game. Everyone getting oneshot. Suddenly, the oneshotter is exhausted, and gets oneshot before the effect is over without being able to oneshot anyone back.
And you do not see why both of these things are complained about? Sure, if the high damage gets fixed, exhaust will get fixed, but it's not hard to see why both are currently problematic. Exhaust doesn't just counter high damage, because both teams have high damage. It's an instant death sentence for the target when they went in to kill someone.
Wait people are complaining about exhaust???
Oh shit it's almost like people have different opinions
W o a h
People are not complaining about exhaust suppresing damage, they are complaining about exhaust supressing damage AND dooming the victim to certain death with the strong slow and the defstat shred a the same time!!! The issue with exhaust is not that it shuts down the damage of a champion for 2.5sec, but that it also shuts down the mobillity and defense, giving it agressive usecases aswell as alloowing it to not only deny a kill, but also easily set up the counterkill.
Also, exhaust power has is to high because of damage creep. With the high damage and thuse short teamfights, shutting down someone for 2.5sec is a very big deal, and usually they wouldn't survive that duration with the slow. In previous season with less damage and longer fights, getting exhausted usually wasn't a death sentence, you could get out and then return with a second rotation as assasin, or just sit it out on a fighter.
I still cry about "have a tank? no? well they do so you lose" xd
That's just basic team comp. And you CAN win without a tank, if you can somehow stop team fights from happening. We did it, once. Barely.
in high elo its actually preferred to have no tank, most people play fiora jayce talon etc top.
The problem with exhaust is that it just shuts down certain champions so hard. Who cares if zed got fed if the support exhausts him as he unloads everything. Just made everything he did useless with a click of a button. Plus now he is easier to kill as well as a bonus. Why would anyone play an assassin in the lcs where a mage can be back in action to dish meaningful damage in 5-10 seconds while also being ranged with how strong exhaust is.

"Why would anyone play an assassin in the lcs where a mage can be back in action to dish meaningful damage in 5-10 seconds while also being ranged with how strong exhaust is". Is that why Zed is played now? Rengar and kha too
Zed is played because lethality was overtuned and about be nerf so rip zed again. Rengar sees play because he still do a butt ton of damage with just 2 damage items (black cleaver also gives health) and then going tank. Khan just has a lot going on for him right now. His Q give burst and consistent damage in 1 v1 his W allows him to help wave clear and poke. AND like rengar has the luxury of being able to go bruiser and still be effective at assassinating targets.

So what, then shouldnt every squishy bring exhaust? The thing is pretty much yes. The support brings exhaust for the adc and many mid laners just get exhaust now cause it's a dueling spell that can make sure your survival and your chance of victory over someone whose levels ahead of u
i don't know what your trying prove with that post and if what you say is true (personally only partially for me) don't you think that crowding out the other summoner spells is a bad thing or being able to negate most of a class with a point and click spell? Cause that sounds unhealthy.
You basically just helped prove my point...

Yeah but the thing is if you dont have exhaust then there's almost no way for you to win against someone ahead 1v1. Look at a fed caitlyn, she can just stand still without using anything but aas and 1v1 yas when his wall is down because she's ahead. A zed support can 1v1 a yas because he's also ahead and he has exhaust. Without exhaust sups and adcs are just going to sit there and die and be able to do nothing
