Who are considered Riven's counters?

tipe #1 is to always take ignite against kill lanes in top. if your going against darius renekton or riven. any of these strong lane bullies. take ignite.

don't engage on riven. let riven engage. and then just W her Q and then Q her . don't use E at all unless your guarnteed a kill or its a wall stun. take ignite. easy lane win 10/10 times. this is what I pick against riven. either her or darius. I get sunfire first. but get bami cinder first since hp is better vs riven.

skill match up because riven is very good at staying inside or outside darius Q. but a good darius wouldn't engage while she has cds. let her farm be passive. and then just land autos and kite backwards. you should win this lane. don't try to use your Q in 1v1s. just save it and only trade with autos .stack passive with autos and W reset. she will just cc you when you Q and its a waste of trade time.

teemo can kite her. build frozen mallet. riven can't auto minions because you will beat her up with poke. she will have to use one of her dashes. q to farm or E to stop poke. a good teemo will play passive aggressive. basically stay back and poke never chase. unless she already used Q and E.

one of her worst counters. can't survive this lane. play it like teemo never use E aggressively unless guarnteed kill. the only way she can engage on you is if you mess up or she flasshes. if she flashes just hit R. and collect elo

Champions with high base tankiness and damage. . Riven can only fight at absolute melee range so champs that can overwhelm her with raw stats are your best bet.

I'd add Trundle to the list. He out-sustains, eats her AD, can actually slow her down enough to catch her, and gets to build tanky to boot.

these 2 cancers can counter anything, anywhere and anytime and they can build tanky without losing damage thanks to their free stats, total ad ratios, low cds, resets ... etc

that 12% flat damage reduction is pretty f****d up, lasts too long and u can juggle it between 2 targets if you got ganked with no cd on it .

and dont listen to those who will say that your team will have 0 tankiness if you go ad carry top because :

1- you still can have 2 or 3 tanks ( yes, mages are not mandatory and easily replaceable by a tank ).

2- as i mentioned these 2 can build tanky and still deal carry level damage.

Support specific because you don't need to lane against someone to counter him, and usually works even if she gets fed :

Most Riven jump on someone and unload their full kit on that poor target. She blows everything in a combo. So you need to prevent her from closing in, or to use that combo.

Case 1 :

Bump her away anytime she tries to dash into your team (save your cc for her and do not blast your spells to engage). Then she's useless. She'll take too long to come back in the teamfight so your team can dps the rest. You're tanky, you can easily stand between her and your team and stay ready to react.

Harder since unlike Aistar, Riven can afford to lose a second to kill you (but your team can still use that time to kill her too). Needs some timing on Q and R to cancel her dashes instead of just cc-ing her.

Case 2 :

Drop that silence >> root zone AT THE VERY BEGINNING of her combo (after she jumped on someone but before she deleted her target). Then you have a Riven player unable to use any spell in the middle of your team but still mashing his keyboard without moving away. She should die if your team doesn't go into panic mode. Works very well against Lee Sin who goes insec-style too.

She shouldn't be able to kill anyone under exhaust (may deal 60%-70% of someone's hp if fed).

Basically, just go peel mode and she can be dealt with.

I've never had a problem using Morgana into Riven. If the Riven is inexperienced in that matchup, I might surprise kill her. If she's not dumb enough to cough up some kills it's just a farm lane where nobody does anything unless jungle gets involved then transitions to mid/late where Morgana is the superior team fighter and wins the game.

play safe until level 6. With the new ult, all nasus needs is a sheen and every Q just chunks riven to hell and nothing she does hurts all that much

As for riven super hard counters, kennen is the biggest one that comes to mind with his stun.

Biggest problem for me greatest to least.

Garen is not a counter vs rivens that actually know the matchup. Take shield level 1 to block decisive strike spam then win every level after that because garen spin does zero damage in lane especially compared to broken wings.

Maybe the matchup swings the other way after the armor shred buff but I doubt it.

I agree, nerf Riven.

seems to do pretty well against her in my experience, because you have decent mobility and she has to use her E-shield either to initiate or dash away from your Q. If she dashes away, you can follow her with E, and her shield will be down by the time Q tugs her back, giving you free damage. You're also resistant to her ult if she doesn't knock you off Skaarl before she throws the wind blade.

I've always considered a pretty good counter to her because of her W and if you can tag her against a wall with your E
