Can we get an early magic resist item?

I am a tank main who loves spamming laugh while the opposing force deals negative damage to me. But now, since you can't buy an MR item straightaway, trying to survive against the mages has become hell on earth. Even with an early mr item, Lil' Lucifer could still poke a poor melee to smithereens, not that I'm saying we should nerf him or anything. It's just that the way it is right now, top lane mages have a blatant early advantage. Based on my experience, a ruby crystal doesn't cut it. Not to mention all these dickheads bringing people like Heimerdinger or Lissandra top lane. The time we needed early MR the most, they upped the price. Bummer.
