It's a little funny with "bruiser champs" left and right

It's almost as if a whole bunch of items in that category constantly get used by classes they aren't meant to because of the INSANE built in utility/stats they provide.

Nah just kidding nerf yasuo/quinn/lee/darius/malphite/graves/kledprobably/fizz/everything else that builds the items instead of the items themselves

but kled, and darius are bruisers and exactly the type of champion theyre made for.

while i agree that just nerfing the other champions in a way that it hurts their intended playstile is bad, their kits were clearly not designed with the new items in mind, and need to be adjusted to reward squishy damage focused builds more than bruiser builds.

that doesnt mean these items have no right to exist. riot is trying to give every class of champion in this game their own core itemization that synergizes with their playstile.

item 3031 item 3072 item 3086 items: adc

item 3071 item 3053 item 3748 item 3022 : fighters

item 3142 item 3147 item 3156 item 3812 : assassins

item 3089 item 3285 item 3027 item 3040 : mages

item 3124 item 3146: on hit builds and hybrid carries/assassins

and pretty much every defensive item: tanks

while some overlap is acceptable, if there are cases where champions of other classes abuse items that werent targeted at them to an extend where they become a problem, then its an issue of those champions and adjusting their scalings to synergize better with their own items.

and in case of items like item 3071 item 3142 item 3147 abused by marksmen in too many cases, they should probably just make them melee only, or find some other way to restrict them more to fighters and assassins.

because the only non-fighter on that list is Graves, who feels like a fighter.

Malphite is a fighter? And who tf builds bruiser Malphite?

fighters are or used to be the majority of champions consisting of 1-2 3rds of the champion pool.

I wouldn't be surprised if riot was hesitant to try and nerf these especially when they'd STILL need to make changes to said champs to decide what direction they want to take the game in later, unless they plan to just make wild guesses

Some of those champions are designed to build those items though... yes nerf the champions like Fizz and Ekko who are abusing the items because it is not the items faults. It is the way these champions were designed, they didn't take into account that they would build these items and be so effective.

This thread needs a hell of a lot more up votes. Tank items in this game are stupid ridiculously strong.

The first one or two raw tank items spike super hard before classes can reliably counter them. Perhaps this design makes them overly powerful for classes they aren't intended for.

What if tanks scaled harder, but spikes less hard middle game? Instead of me tank mid carry kill late it was more individual performance based. It would deflate some melee dps going tank. It would also hurt bruiser that go full dmg item and full tank items though. Perhaps push fighter itemization harder then..? Those get abused too though. Oh well.

Maybe it is better tank for sure dominate mid and carry for sure dominate late...
