So why is LeBlancs ult on such a low cd?

BobbyCarHaterX··16 votes·1,590 views

30 sec cd skill which can be used as burst, escape and cc.

In lane, after she used her combo+ult you get popped down to 30% health maximum, so you have basically 30 sec time to farm before getting killed or recall back to base. Getting 10 cs everytime you go lane.

Go play her if she's so strong. Go on, I'll wait. Come back and show us your massive score after playing her.

I feel bad to abuse that champ, it just feels unfair to instagib anyone all the time. And I want to have a challenge while playing this game instead of 1-shotting anyone easily.

That's what costs you when you play. You might not want to abuse a champion or use one that most people consider OP but others have no issue. She has awful wave clear and has to roam to really be effective. Her power comes in bursts and they're high but if you don't die or have teammates nearby she's as good as dead. If you know the range of her W you can play around it and if she uses her ult to mimic W often you can kill her fast with a timed gank. I hate her burst and how effective it is as well as how good everyone seems to be with her against me yet I've tried to play her and it just isn't easy to get to that stage where you hit W, Q, R and make someone vanish.

Dude, you gotta be more bloodthirsty than that :) The only reason to avoid a champion you perceive to be overpowered is that you're afraid of Rito swinging the nerf bat, or that you just don't enjoy the play style. But I personally think you're just doing yourself a disservice if you avoid a champion because they're good.

Quite the opposite. I'm picking up Azir again, regardless of the nerfs, because I'm convinced that he's actually a good, balanced champ. Vel'Koz, Viktor, Lissandra, are all balanced champs but they get nerfed or buffed based on how well the fare against the League of Assassins.

Lissandra is getting nerfed in the next patch because she can completely lock down Zed. She's THE counter pick to him, and people can't stand it.

They're livid that their pretty little princess sitting on his throne can have a counter.

That's...kind of retarded logic. If they wanted to do that, they'd hit her cooldowns or her cc durations. They're only nerfing the damage on her Q. That has NOTHING to do with Zed. Thats just a general nerf.

captainkaiger1 votes

The nerfs follow a cycle though. First they test the waters to see what they can do, then they drop the hammer. I realize that my logic is faulty, but then I don't truly profess to know how or why champs are buffed or nerfed in each patch, and that my example about Lissandra was a bad one.

How bout if I put Kassadin on the spotlight? The former anti-mage is now a relic of a shell of his former self. He's been reworked so much that he might as well just get the full rework.

Except Zed really isnt that much of a problem in soloQ? People only cry about him because they think we all have Bjerg-level mechanics. How about the fact that the nerfs you speak of have absolutely nothing to do with her ability to lock champs like Zed down? Cry more LCS sheep

captainkaiger1 votes

Yes, Zed isn't that much of a problem in solo Q, but all the same, I'm going straight for Lissandra if she hasn't been banned, if they pick Zed. No, the nerfs I'm speaking of do nothing with her locking down Zed, but in Riot fashion, expect more to come.

Also, LCS sheep? You assume immediately that I actually give a damn about the LCS? I know what it is, I know a couple names, and that they are all well above my skill level. But I don't sit at home going "Oh I wish I was in the LCS," I want to get decent at this game, Gold would be nice, and then just stop giving a care about improving. Not everyone wants to have to spend weeks at a time obsessing over the tiniest of details so that they can objectively be called "Good" at a video game. I love league, but I don't want it to be my life.

Zed is a safe assassin. Assassins require teamwork to shut down. Soloq is 5 random people thrown together. What does it lack? People hate assassins (when they're strong) because you can control them in a lane environment but 1 misstep by anyone on your team and it invalidates your efforts.

Eh, I'm pretty sure Azir is trash-tier. His gold/platinum/diamond win rates are 39%/41%/43% (I'm eyeballing based on data at LOLDB--and there's not a lot of it because he's so unpopular right now--but I don't think I'm off by much). You can see that he's skill-intensive because of the climb at higher rankings, but that's still pretty darn bad. Also, the pros have pretty much abandoned him (not picked/banned in the LCS since the nerfs, 4 games in the last 2 weeks on probuilds.net).

I'm not saying it isn't possible to win with him, just that the nerfs have taken away an extremely large amount of his power. That said, based on the PBE it looks like the nerf I'm guessing was the most impactful (Soldier attack range) is going to be mostly reverted. It was nerfed from 400 to 325, and it's currently 375 on the PBE. Taking Syndra as a recent example (who was temporarily nerfed to trash tier due to Q damage reduction and large E hitbox reduction, but subsequently at least made playable after mostly reverting the changes to E), I'm guessing they'll at least buff him back to playable in the near future. So, play him if you like him.

Liss is pick/ban basically everywhere and LB/Kat are better than Zed in every way

Does Gameplay and Bronze have to be this dumb all the time?

captainkaiger1 votes

Yes, Liss is pick or ban, but LeBlanc and Kat are on different spectrums than Zed.

Do you have to immediately assume you are smarter than everyone else by throwing out two general statements, only one of which is objectively right?

Let me ask you something, who's got their thumb up your ass?

The different spectrum being that they're better than him

The only place Zed wins is in competitive play, as Kat is never picked there because she's too risky against coordinated teams

I'm sorry I don't subscribe to the "hur riot nerfs everything that beats zed" drivel that has literally nothing to do with how they balance the game

Liss got nerfed because she's overpowered, Kat got nerfed because she's overpowered, Zed got a small nerf because he was overpowered in competitive, and possibly still is

Validate your statements with facts. Why are LeBlanc and Kat better than Zed?

If you know so much, how do they balance the game huh?

Again, you haven't validated a single statement of yours with any sort of info since you want to create an argument of this.

They both have a higher pick/ban/win rate than him?

Is it safe to assume you base your "Zed OP" claims entirely on your feelings?

captainkaiger1 votes

I'm not saying Zed is OP, I'm saying he and Lee Sin are Riot's special little princesses always avoiding the nerf mallet. I'm not even saying Lee Sin is OP either. Simply that they shouldn't get to be put on a throne.

I hate LeBlanc /Kata just as much as Zed, for the whole reason that eventually they will just steamroll all of your carries no matter how hard you shut them down in lane, no matter how often you drop your cc on them, IT WILL HAPPEN.

Kind of an ironic thing to say since you play full AD Rengar and full AP Cho who can both instagib someone easily. Are Cho'gath and Rengar OP?

Troy2426211 votes

They both can have obscene damage, yes, but there's two things to remember. One is that they both pay for it somehow and their combo time still takes a while. Cho'Gath's full combo, even if he lands everything, will still be in the ballbark of 1 to 2 seconds, and is telegraphed because he is immobile and has to walk up to you. Rengar's will be in the range of 1 second if absurdly fed and can reach the 2 second range.

LeBlanc has an escape mechanism even if she goes all in, can achieve extremely huge numbers even if not absurdly fed and can execute her combo in ~0.6 seconds.

You failed on this one. LeBlanc is too item dependent, and denying her kills early game just makes the game 5v4. Just don't die early game and she will have awkward damage to a single target, which is useless.

Troy2426213 votes

That simply isn't true. If you want proof of that, I'll demonstrate.

Historically speaking, remember what LB has always been considered? An early game stomp champion. She has huge base values, and even if she isn't fed, she is still powerful.

She will not 100:0 you if gold starved, and in that regard she may be item dependent. However, what she will do is take 60% of your health bar in .6 second then teleport back out and wait her laughably short CDs out to try again.

Maybe you should group with your team then. Maybe your peel champs should do their job to lock down someone attacking their squishy.. Because she has a horrible teamfight unless she is incredibly fed.

In Season 5 so far I have a 100% win rate with her.

Stacona5 votes

it makes sense for Mimic to be a low cooldown, it makes no sense to why Leblanc remains to be blatantly overpowered, even without the zoning power of the insane mobility her numbers are ridiculously WAAAY too high even on an immobile mage, add the mobility and you have a blatantly overpowred champion- Annie is overpowered right now and has no where near the damage of Leblanc just for comparison of how strong leblanc really is

Abyssphere4 votes

It is a bit short. I was going to say "it's short because it doesn't do as much damage as most ults" but I checked and that's really not true. Her ult Q and E do scandalous amounts of damage for a 10.8 second cooldown at max CDR.

Earthlord Jazz3 votes

Didn't Riot nerf Darius' ult refresh with the reason being that if you died in lane by it, it would be up by the time you got back and he'd just kill you again?

Don't see how this is any different with LeBlanc's ult. At least with Darius' ult, it has less range and utility...

KaisadiIIa3 votes

Just change its cooldown from 40/32/24 to 65/45/25, and make it cost 100/50/0 mana (like it used to be) instead of 0 at all ranks.

kcStranger2 votes

I actually do think that if they decide they need to nerf LeBlanc, the best way might be to somewhat increase the cooldown on her ult. (Maybe 50/40/30 instead of 40/32/24?) I don't want them to wreck her by increasing it too much though (and I don't play LeBlanc).

KaisadiIIa2 votes

There are three things you have to do to balance LeBlanc: Increase the cooldown of her R at early ranks (to 65/45/25 from 40/32/24 would be good) and return back it's 100/50/0 mana cost. Also reduce the damage from Q + W at level 2/3, it's just too much to handle for some champions.

lojician2 votes

Because she wouldn't be mobile enough if she didn't have the ability to use two reversible long range dashes every 30 seconds instead of one.

I really love how she can use one w just to close half the distance and only hit with RQE and still kill squishies. Cool champion.

JC DarkOmen1 votes

because all it does is remove the cd from one ability basically. it'd be retarded to put it on a normal cd. and if you can't handle lb it's either a bad matchup or you're bad. as brand i find it's pure skill based

KaisadiIIa1 votes

because all it does is remove the cd from one ability basically

that's pretty strong early game. And you are forgetting the fact that it grants more damage to that spell, regardless of its rank.

SmokingPuffin1 votes

Same reason Karma's quite similar ult is on a low CD. They're flexible, but not as powerful as "real" ultimates.

Kivolan1 votes

Same could be asked for Swain's ult.

Or Kassadin's buffed one here pretty soon.
