Why are mages so strong?

A fed mage beats the fed equivalent of like any other class. Fighter, assassin, support, adc, bruiser. etc. The only class that can stand up to mages is situationally tanks and only certain types. Take annie for example.

A fed annie WILL one shot any role except for tanks and no other role can contest the impact of an annie. Same thing for brand, anivia and malz. You can argue a fed fighter/adc/assassin is strong but they don't have the burst, CC, or AOE damage that a fed mage provides. A fed fighter can nuke one champ at a time while a fed mage can literally win an entire team fight with one ability.

Nope! Fed Juggernauts are way worse Illaoi Darius Nasus Renekton Shyvana Yorick Mages cant 1v5 and kill like 3 people no matter how much dmg they do if the get cc'd they can be bursted

A fed fighter can nuke one champ at a time while a fed mage can literally win an entire team fight with one ability.

Mages can't 1v5 like a fed Darius Garen Illaoi Nasus Swain Yorick can. The downside to being a mage is that you're immobile and can get caught out easily unlike an assassin. They also often have skillshots that can be dodged too.

A fed adc will kill you in 3 undodgable hits and will lifesteal up all the damage you do and will probably build a qss or GA so it's hard to actually kill them. That class is the worst to have fed.

A lot of Fighters/Bruisers and select Supports can withstand a Mage burst actually. Aatrox Blitzcrank Camille Darius Diana DrMundo Ekko Fiora Fizz Gangplank Garen Gnar Jax Kassadin Kayle Kled Malzahar Morgana Nasus Nocturne Nunu Olaf Renekton Skarner Swain Taric Trundle Udyr Urgot Vladimir Volibear Warwick MonkeyKing Yasuo Yorick Zilean These champions at least can all survive an Annie Burst by using their innate durability or abilities in their kit. Also, MANY Fighters can nuke multiple champions with their abilities, such as: Darius Ekko Gangplank Gnar Illaoi JarvanIV Nasus Riven Rumble MonkeyKing Yasuo All of these Fighters are exceptional at dealing high damage to multiple champions at once. "But, it's not all at once to everyone!" Well, that's why they are about two to three times as durable as an Annie, Brand, Anivia, or Malz.

Mages are meant to be stronger in the mid game in general so a lead in the early game translates to a lot of power. Full build adcs are a lot more oppressive than mages.

In addition to burst they have a side category, for assassins it's burst and mobiity and for mages it's burst and crowd control. The deal with mages is they are just harder to itemize against. There's normally a lot more damage coming from AD based abilities than AP. So people will usually build armor or no resistances at all. Or they will build resistance... but they will basically leave it at a single item like they think it will be a massive difference when a mage has f*cking 30 MP and 35% Bonus MR reduction.
