You’re all fools if you believe it’s too early to complain about a new champion

Why is it so hard to understand the difference between a concept that is flawed and numbers that need tweaking

You can look at a champion like Pre-ReWork Kassadin and understand quickly why that champions kit is not a good fit in the current game. This has little to do with base values or the ratios of his abilities and more to do with the kit.

Kassadin has an ability which allowed him to flash every 6 seconds. His mana cost never increase. His Q had over 1.5 seconds silence.

If a champion like pre rework Kass was released today, people wouldn’t complain how his damage but the kit. People complained about Zoe before she got released for that exact reason she was later needed for. They e were posters (not me) who specifically called out that it’s problematicfor a champion to truly only have one damaging ability. People called out the issue with her getting free TPs in lane. People complained about Kalistas ultimate and now riot is desperately merging Kalista in areas hoping for a miracle

Guess what, Riot is not stuck addressing all those core designs right now.

With that all said, it’s not too early to talk about the health and balance of a champions kit. I’m not saying the new champion is unhealthy or other wise but I do think it is a problem Why? She feels more like Quin or other ADCs who have this one abilities that shouldn’t be on a ADC. Her kit feels she was originally design to be a hybrid of ADC and Assassins. Like quinn, she will either completely eclipse other ADCs in bot lane or riot will ending just hitting her ratios where she will only be occasionally picked in top or mid for a few match ups

I’m not saying all the topic talking about balance are warranted. Im just saying this isn’t the case of how Xins original release was. His kit was fine but his values needed major adjustments

You are right and wrong at the same time. Numbers are what make or break a champion. The design/kit determines, how hard the impact of the numbers is.

For instance, a champ like Zoe can only either be busted or useless, because her viability heavily relies on the numbers of her Q. The impact of numbers would be weaker if her kit was not so poorly designed.

So yes, it's a little early to complain about the new champion. Especially, since her kit is a little more complex, and it's almost impossible to predict the impact of numbers on her possible spell combos.
