Riot, I've got an idea for new champs to boost excitement and healthy ranked play

Hey Riot, I had an idea tonight that, while it would certainly require a change in your dev pipeline, would greatly increase public excitement when new champs came out as well as making their transition into ranked play much healthier.

Don't release champions on the pbe.

Give them an extra week or two for internal testing to fix things like texture changes and what not. Then, make the big reveal and release directly to live servers. Let everyone discover together what a new champ has instead of watching while a select few write up the new champions on pbe blogs.

The catch? Give them a full testing cycle before they are allowed in ranked games. Give everyone a solid few weeks to learn the champion together and, if needed, get the kinks and revealed imbalances fixed. Finally, flag them as ranked-ready.

Obviously this method would require a touch more work on Riot's part before the big reveal, but I think it would make champion releases more exciting while also making it easier to move new champions into ranked mode.

Just my $0.02.

Hm. I like this post. It was articulate and excellently thought out. And I agree. (The agreeing part always helps.)
