Question for Meddler regarding power shifts.

Hopefully Meddler sees this.

I see some nerfs lined up for Ezreal ( Justified 100% ) but i was just curious,

Why not take away some damage from his E and do something with his W? People are complaining that his W does ''nothing'' and his E is just free damage thats 100% unnecessary since it acts like Ahris W in the sense its just lock on damage for being close. If you removed his E damage completely itd put him in a nerfed state, but gave his W some utility idk rather than sheer damage.

Just an opinion that i think would be a nice fix, Since people max Q-->E-->W it could be something to help late game as long as its not too strong when maxed second. And if they do max W second they'd take away from safety ( less cd on blink )

His W has two benefits outside of pure damage. The attack speed buff on a teammate, which is actually significant if you are taking a tower or neutrals. And the other is that it helps him stack his passive, so it directly ties into his overall damage output and his scaling. Like some players early on don't take W at all until they have to so their Q will hit hard and E has low CD. But that sets you back a lot. Like maybe you get a jugnel gank and tp play bot at lvl 4 and you have no W. It will take you much longer to take that tower or drake because you will be autoing slower and so will your teammates.

The W works precisely because it is utility. Don't let the casual monkeys fool you. They will tell you than any skill that does not help you kill champions in a really obvious, impactful way is a useless skill. In a sustained fight the W becomes essential in maintaining a high DPS because of the utility. The times as worlds where Ez is played, usually at least one caster will mention the way you can tell a good Ez player from a crappy one is their ability to play around his passive. Stacking it, maintaining high stacks, understanding how much damage you will be able to put out so maybe don't start a full team fight until you've poked enough to get max stacks, etc.

TLDR: The W is essential to his overall damage output and ability to take neutrals without it actually dealing significant damage itself, which is what makes it a cool mechanic.
