Blue Buff niche in current mechanics. Is it good? Shouldn't it be different?
So currently blue buff is only used as a mean of mana regen. Especially in higher elo and pro scene. Which IMHO isn't that interesting and defies they idea of mana and mana regen itemization and ability management. It would be more interesting if blue buff gave effect similar to red buff. E.g. whenever enemy receives magic damage - a burn and some status effect_ (0.25s silence, 0.1s root or any other status effect excluding slow)_ is applied. Alternatively. Contrary to red buff it gives sustain and works based on casting abilities. But I somewhat against it because it will overlap with catalyst.
I know many people would be against such mechanic but I personally hate how blue buff is used in current meta. Moreover I hate that it defies the idea of mana management which feels interesting from gameplay point of view. I also understand that removing mana regen from blue buff will: -make mage junglers life harder -make mana dependent vs manaless matchups harder
