Vlad is having old Ryze syndrome and should perhaps be considered for a VGU
I was overjoyed when reworked Vlad became relevant in competitive and casters couldn't stop talking about him. Eventually pros became really good at him and we started hearing remarks like "no counterplay" "overpowered" and of course the sarcastic "very healthy". Vlad is, after all, currently the most banned champion in LCS (NA at least, where he recently surpassed Ryze.)
Now, I absolutely love the rework. It's thematic, fun, satisfying and adds some counterplay. But judging by what pros keep saying, not enough.
So there's two options:
-
Nerf him hard. But his current win ratio is not great and may become atrocious if the nerfs continue. He is in the position of old Ryze, that is turbocancer in organized pro teams and pretty bad in soloq. So you will be helping LCS players deal with him but making Vlad mains miserable.
-
A larger rework. One that will make him less team-reliant so Vlad players can accomplish something on their own ingame without their champion being overturned.
Honestly, I don't see why
was reworked yet again with so many more deserving champions on the list, ahem
.
I'm certainly not saying you should drop them and rush a Vlad VGU, but please consider adding him to the list if your intention right now is to nerf him into the trash for another three years.
One good reason is that he's one of the few champions who got picked even when he was bad because his concept, design, skins and VO were appealing. I guess I'm basically saying that like pre-rework
and unlike
and
(who are invariably ugly) he is a 100% sex-marketable piece of ass has the potential to attract players with his concept alone.
treatment and make everyone forget he exists.
