Is Malphite as stupidly OP in high elo as he is in low?

Title.

I was getting my butt kicked a lot by Malp so I started playing him myself. And holy hell, he's stinkin' OP. I have atleast an 80% win rate with him, and while I'd like to tell you it's because I'm just a rad jungler, it's not. Malp seems unstoppable.

If you were around in the past, you would know that Malphite used to be perma-banned. My theory is that he was banned so many times in ranked that people literally forgot or didn't bother to play him anymore.

Perma bans used to be Malphite, Blitz, Alistar, Kassadin, Shen, and Amumu

Malph is ridiculously strong, always has been. The only thing that booted him out of meta was the fact that he's pretty niche. Three AD comp vs Malph, yes please. Three or more AP comp, game is gonna suck for him.

He'S a bit less devastating, but still sleeper op in high elos. One of the few save hard-engages with high burst and strong as-slow, wonder why he could be strong in a meta mostly dominated by (ranged) squishys and especially adc...

however, in higher elos positioning is a lot better, so it'S way harder to land ults on 3+ people, especially if you aim for the carry.

I just played and lost a bunch of games with him. He can't really do much from the jungle pre6.

Maybe I just got lucky with a string of somewhat decent team mates but the 4 or 5 games I've played since then it's like every lane started feeding before I even hit 3 qnd there was nothing I could do.

I know he's good from top, esp. against Jax and some other popular picks, but I'm more interested in jungling.

Malph's a really balanced champ with strengths and weaknesses. As a jungle his clear is kind of slow and ganks are very meh without ult. As a laner mana pool is quite a constraint and he has his counters for sure. He excels as in initiator in the kinds of games with very bursty short fights. Besides some attack speed slows his greatest utility is in his hard initiation however it is quite counterable with banshees, flash and good positioning...

He is pretty good in high elo, although not quite as good in low elo. However, he almost never sees success as a jungler in high level games, mainly because he clears very slow, has terrible pre-6 ganks, and can easily be killed in his own jungle. Too much to exploit. His top lane is the main menace.

"Are people as bad in high elo as they are in low elo"

Is basically what you are asking.
