TL;DR/W
-Push a wave all the way under turret before recalling or leaving the lane.
-Once a wave has gone past the river it will push back to you, because the enemy wave is closer to the enemy base, so the "reinforcement wave" will reach the own allied wave faster than yours, this applies the other way around as well.
-When you're going back to lane and you're wondering if to use tp or not, if there isn't any reason use it if the wave is past the river towards your turret, as it will most likely kill your wave and make you lose at least 6 cs, if your wave is past the river towards the opponent's turret, you may still lose a few cs 3-4 depending on how the wave is, but you'll lose much less than the previous situation.
-Manipulating the waves you can create an advantage of +6 -12 or +12 -6 in your favor (the - minions are the ones you make your opponent miss if you manage the wave accurately), once you know this you create a huge advantage for you basically doing nothing, FATAL HORRIBLE SHAMEFUL error low elo players make is to ignore wave management so they get punished and they don't even notice it happening, simply by doing nothing.
-If your whole team is mid and you're not fighting or contesting any objective (you must ALWAYS being contesting something, may it be cs, lv2, a turret, a dragon, a buff, a kill, pressure, anything, otherwise you're what i call "walking afk" aka wasting your time and giving the enemy free time to do whatever they want) you should be splitpushing, knowing how the waves behave you can go splitpushing and then reconsidering what to do according to what your team is doing/you want to do.
-At lv7, either by build or built in champion kit, you unlock the "waveclear" (you oneshot a wave), by that time you MUST always push, otherwise "(you and) your team gets fucked".
