Akali does not need true stealth.

Seriously if you touch nothing else about the champion except making her W normal stealth, she would be fine. She does enough damage to 100-0 someone with a single item, why does she need to also remove the enemy laner's ability to come back by having the tools to tower dive them repeatedly.

It's the one ability in the game that denies counterplay. There is no counterplay. I repeat THERE IS NO COUNTERPLAY.

If this ability continues to exist in season 9, it will be solid evidence that Riot doesn't take this game seriously as a competitive e-sport.

Has anyone ever taken the time to think of how little the Obscured ability actually effects most champion interactions?

The issue isn't with champion interactions, the issue is that if you get killed once by Akali, she has the tools to keep killing you unless you completely forfeit all gold and XP, and give up your turret. Hugging turret is not an option (she just times her attacks between shots and kills you without taking damage from the turret anyway). Calling for a gank is not an option either (she does enough damage to 1v2 after getting Gunblade).

item 3056 active is valued at ~1000g, Akali has >2 (based on duration) of them built into her W, that is ~2500g worth of utility on less than a 30s cooldown.

Also, any assassin in the game can do that. Akali is nothing special in that regard.

What makes you think that if Akali was LeBlanc, you'd be any safer under turret? Any situation Akali can kill you while turret diving, one assassin or another can also kill you, but quicker, giving you less time to react.
You say hugging turret isn't an option but you can see her when you're under turret, so why not hit her with cc at this time?
If she shrouded for the dive, she doesn't have shroud to retreat. How is calling for a gank not an option?

You shouldn't play into the strengths of a champion, then complain.

My primary issue with it is that it punishes autoattack and targeted ability reliant champs item 3364 and summoner 14 ticks may reveal her outline but that is largely useless on AA/Targeted ability champs, and this can all be done under her enemies own turret.

Yeah theres counterplay, but its more-so counterplay for skillshot champs (and very hit or miss even then), because the "counterplay" of "back off from your own turret for around 8 seconds b/c you have no real way to retaliate missing cs and potentially xp too SUCKS.

So she has to be susceptible to dang near everything? I thought you guys wanted "strategic diversity"? You can't have that if you ALSO want to make every match-up as simple as the next one in terms of approach.

That said: Akali is an assassin that's designed to feast on carry champions more so than other types of targets, since carries are the ones that use largely targeted damage. Other types of champions don't care about her as much.

yeah unless i have a considerable health advantage on her and i can take her burst. yes im gonna disengage that. You basically giving her free damage. at least thats my strat. then my window to engage her is the cd of her cloud. to me if i kill her so be it if i force her out of lane and back thats great too. its situational really. but yeah id disengage if she drops it and we are even hp or whatever. depends
