Sterak's Gage and Thornmail changes will help, Omen's Thorns likely breaks Rammus and Malphite

Sterak's Gage Attack damage increased from 25% to 30% Shield value increased from [30% of max health] to [75% of bonus health] Sterak's Fury passive attack damage increased from 25% to 30%

I was just asking for 400 health to be increased to 500 and for the shield to be 55% of bonus health which would make it far more targeted towards fighters and tanks who build a fair amount of health over marksmen who at most tend to get about 500 bonus health. I wanted it to be something that can be balanced around the intended fighter classes without having to worry too much about marksmen buying it due to their generally lower base AD and the shield not working with their builds. This item with these changes likely goes from meh to core on many fighters and some tanks.

Thornmail Gold cost lowered from 2350g to 1200g Build path: Cloth Armor + Cloth Armor + 600g (now builds into Randuin's Omen) Armor lowered from 100 to 30 Unique passive magic damage reflect lowered from 25% to 15%

Randuin's Omen Gold cost increased from 2600g to 3000g Build Path: Thornmail + Giant's Belt + 800g Armor lowered from 60 to 50 [New] Now gives -15% damage taken from critical strikes Unique Passive renamed to Thorns Unique Passive - Thorns: When basic attacked, deal magic damage to the attacker equal to 15% bonus Armor, doubled for critical strikes

EDIT: the following Omen math is likely wrong and was based on what I though the wording was saying it does but what it says it does based on what Thornmail does.

The omen/thornmail changes on 4/11 will make thornmail worth getting but I feel like the 15% of bonus armor on Omen was not well though out. Perhaps a flat 20% and having an active that doubles it to 40% for 4 seconds but then has the damage returned passive disabled for the next 12 seconds would be a better design making it have times where focusing the tank is really a stupid idea instead of focusing the tank evne when they are the only one alive still is a bad idea . I don't want to have to deal with a Rammus or malphite who does get 300+ bonus armor returning 45% or more of damage received from autos back and even with 60 MR that would be about 28% of damage from autos being returned and having no way around it. This version of Omen I like the concept of but it needs healthy limitations which it does not have. If the current 15% were to hit live tanks would become literally unkillable by crit builds without it being suicide.

I wouldn't be too worried about Ramnus or Malp.

Randium is an item most champions will buy as the first armor item they need. It's too good of a general first tank item.

There is nothing that compares to it at on PBE at the moment. That means the riven that gets 1 armor item will be either the new GA or Randiun...

PBE Omen actually has the least armor (others have been buffed, it has been nerfed om both accounts). Malph might be able to abuse it well, and maybe one of the tanks with a natural shield, but its hardly going to be the strongest first item.

A single lifesteal item can counter raduins, making it useless. Yi will still be able to solo 400 armor rammus with just a botrk.

I get a feeling the wording is not clear in the Omen description since no longer having the 15% of damage returned would make it not that good of an upgrade.

That being said I might be wrong on how it actually works since the wording seems to not fit the item properly due to the thornmail version being better in most situations than the Omen version if trusting the wording.

I though that it was saying for every 100 bonus armor you would return 15% of the targets auto attack damage.

It looks like a flat 15% of your bonus armor, so that' even weaker than it was originally. One lifesteal item will make it useless. Even if it was 15% of autoattack damage, part of what makes it possible to solo rammus as yi with just a jungle item and botrk is the % max hp doesn't proc the return. As it is now I can solo a rammus with full build when he only buys armor items with just one lifesteal item.

Important to note it's still pretty experimental though (hasn't had any internal testing yet for example).

Meddler on Reddit regarding Thornmail. So, I wouldn't be too sure that this ships at all.
