Who's your favorite champion(s) and why?

Here are mine,

Illaoi Illaoi, The Kraken Priestess Illaoi

She has a ton of outplay potential and can punish all your mistakes. You cant simply make mistake after mistake when playing against an Illaoi, she WILL punish you. You dont simply facecheck a bush, as Illaoi might be in there with her E ready.

She has a unique kit that is focused entirely on her tentacles' AOE Slam. She has deceptively high sustain, and can easily bait people into giving her free kills. Her ult is THE MOST SATISFYING THING EVER. If you land a perfect ult, you will have just gotten a lot of kills, while the rest are heavily damaged. Having an Illaoi in your game can be game changing. The Illaoi has to have good positioning, timing, and decision making though. Illaoi is more susceptible to being bursted down fast and to crowd control, which is why she can't just initiate herself. Shes an overall fun champion to play, easy to make comebacks with, and can carry her entire team.

Caitlyn Caitlyn, The Sheriff of Piltover Caitlyn

Caitlyn is probably my favorite ADC. Caitlyn has the option to play passive or aggressive as she pleases, due to ehr long range. Although this range can be very iffy if you dont know how to get into that sweet spot, as I dont yet. Caitlyn is a lane bully and really hurts early game and late late game.

Her traps, are part of what makes her a lane bully. A good Caitlyn will lock you away from the brush, putting a few traps in there, making it hers. Her kit is based entirely around safety, which i like a lot. her E is purely for escape and a quick proc of her passive, and synergizes nicely with her Q for extra damage. her passive, Headshot, is basically a complicated crit that happens every time she gets 6 stacks. Headshot can hurt very badly if the Caitlyn uses it right. Her R is a LONG ranged execution/poke, although if youre not a pro player its probably better for execution (since they communicate so well.) Shes honestly just stuck with me.

Ashe Ashe, The Frost Archer Ashe

As Ashe, YOU make the plays. Her ult is an absolute playmaker and if used right, can get her a nice kill. She can provide vision, melt enemy healthbars, and is the kiting GODDESS next to Kalista. She can do so many things with her kit, and its amazing.

A 100% crit Ashe is scary. If theres a 100% crit Ashe, you better not let her catch you alone unless you can lock her down. A 100% crit ashe will kite you hard, while still hurting. Ashe can surprise you with the damage in her Q, can constantly poke you with her W, provide vision with her E, make plays with her R, and kite for days with her Passive. Its an overall fun kit that i love. Ashe was my first main, and i stuck with her through the tough times in early S7.

Vayne Vayne, The Night Hunter Vayne

Vayne shreds who she wants, when she wants. Vayne can shred anyones health, regardless of if theyre a tank, squishy, etc. Vayne excels at dueling and can burst down quickly. Shes a mobile ADC that can be very scary lategame if left unchecked.

Vaynes Q is great mobility and a quick way to get a bit more damage in. Her W is the best thing about Vayne by far. Her W does percent health TRUE DAMAGE. This ability is what makes Vayne, Vayne. her E is her safety and playmaking ability. She can push you into a wall and stun you, which gives her plenty of time to proc silver bolts. When playing against Vayne, you cannot position yourself wrong, or shell have you stunned in no time. Her R is what makes her dueling scary. It gives her bonus AD, and empowers her abils. When you use her Q, she can go invis for a second. Her passive MS is increased to 90. Her passive is why she can chase you down hard. she gets 30 MS when moving towards an enemy champ. Its a kit thats all about going ham and melting healthbars. I love going ham so i like Vayne, which is why im interested in her right now.

Karma Karma, The Enlightened One Karma

Karma is probably my favorite support. Karma has multiple uses from poke, to stuns, and to shielding. Her shields can save an ally at the last moment and will provide them a temporary speed boost to escape. Its just an overall kit that can make you feel like you are the backbone of the team.

Karma's Q is a poke ability that can do massive damage when paired with her R. Her Q shouldnt ever be underestimated. her W is a tether that does a bit of damage, but its mostly for the root. When paired with her R, itll heal you. Her E is the late game focus in her kit. She can make huge team escapes and can save allies with it. Its a shield that may not seem like it can do much, but it does so much at the same time. It provides a speed boost and a shield. her R empowers her abils while her Passive interacts with her R. Its an underwhelming kit considering two parts of it dont do anything on their own, but its still a fun kit where you can make AWESOME saves.

Camille She is fun to play and while very heavily reliant on a team to back her dives up, she can still manage to hold her own in a 1v1.

Jinx As my main for a long time now, I feel like I have gotten to a point where I know her mechanics, strengths and weaknesses almost by instinct. Plus sniping shit with her ult is always fun.

Thresh Because there is just never a wrong time to choose Thresh for support.

Jhin The crits and the number 4.

Vayne

Requires skill, feels so satisfying to play her when you do well. Scrubs cant simply pick her up and dominate, the difference between a skilled Vayne and a noob Vayne is huge.

Ezreal

See above.

Quinn

Zoom zoom. Her kit flows together so well.

Shaco

The amount of outplays you can do with this guy is ridiculous. Also unlike other assassins, you dont simply click all your buttons to get kills, requires skill to use.

Diana

Quite a bit because I like moon-themed things, but she's also strong lore-wise. She fights with conviction for her beliefs, and won't be forced to lead a life under anyone's thumb but her own. That kind of strong will speaks to me.

Also, she gets to capitalise on mistakes her opponents make in lane very nicely.

Jhin I like his artistic flair and fluid combat/animations

Elise Vi Sejuani Are all liked for the same reason: I like the idea of strong women crushing people who defy them, or just for fun. I didn't like all of their kits when I started, but in the process of becoming proficient with them, I learned to enjoy the various aspects of their abilities.

I freaking love Bard. I love running around and being whimsical and making plays, but looking like a dopey dumb champ.

Yasuo:

Yasuo's kit contains a lot, ranging from his double crit and shield passive to his suspension ult that can set up a lot of plays. Overall, his kit is well-designed, thematically and gameplay-wise. Yes I understand that he's very frustrating to face, but has clear weaknesses like his small windows of opportunity for him to go in while having his shield, his lack of reliable escapes and is overall, very squishy. Yasuo's build path is also very flexible post-building PD and IE; ranging from Tri-Force for the extra burst needed and niche CDR for his W & R, Ruined King so that he can shred tanks and BT if he needs life steal and more AD.

Ezreal:

IMO, Ezreal plays like Yasuo, but can't make a lot of plays because he's squishy and can't duel a lot of the ADC's w/o him being extremely ahead or he has peel. His Q is a lot like Yasuo's Q, except it has more range but can't crit. His W provides a nice amount of utility to himself and other teammates & does have some nice damage. His E is his main source of mobility and is extremely reliable. His R has many uses from sniping people, taking down stragglers to nuking the enemy team before and after a teamfight. Ezreal's pretty well balanced in that he's never insane when he gets his items, but at the same time, he's very safe with his E and skillshot-oriented kit. The problem with him though is that he doesn't scale well into the late game, he's very fragile and easy to catch w/o his E and that he's more item-reliant than most of the other ADC's.

He's however, breaks a lot of the sheen itemization (cough, Runeglaive and release Iceborn.)

Aatrox :

First champ I ever really liked, and he's stuck with me for a while now. While he's not the best, I enjoy the challenge. Also, landing long range E's is always fun.

Karthus :

Awesome theme, fun kit, and, a pretty different playstyle than most mages.

Riven As a fighting game player, I more or less started playing league because of Riven. Huge fan of her lore and back story, despite not much of it being covered. Since her playstyle is combo oriented, I'm free to basically channel my fighting game mindset into league, like a home away from home. Turns out she shares her voice actress with my fighting game main, which was a pleasant surprise.

Also, can we keep threads like these bundled up, because I've been posting in a lot of these.

Jinx : Jinx is so fun, and has a likable personality. She has a great kit too, using a variety of weapons and zoning her oppnents before setting up that perfect kill. Star guardian skin makes her even better.

Galio : My new top main, I love Galio's lore, his relatable character, and his gameplay. He feels like a colossus when you play him, blasting them away with his wind, enduring hits, and slamming them into the ground. It was so satisfying flying from base to save my team that was getting walloped, allowing us to turn the fight around.

Warwick : I love how he's complex and simple at the same time, as his kit is not hard to figure out yet takes skill to play well.

Thresh : Only play him Dark star or blood moon, as his base theme kinda bores me. There's mroe they could do with a lantern than just "soul prison" (look at over the garden wall for an example of this). However, his gameplay is soooo satisfying, and collecting souls makes you feel powerful. Once landed a hook on a jinx and she was dragged screaming back into my entire team.

Lux : Also relatable, Lux provides a good look at the fantasy equivalent of being gay in the 1950's, and also has great gameplay. Zoning, rooting, and firing those massive lasers is soooooooooooooo cathartic. DOWN YOU GO YOU LITTLE BASTARDS!

Yasuo Yasuo: He was the first champion I picked up, and really liked mostly because of how much potential you can have with him. Even if there is a counter if you are good enough it doesn't matter anymore.

Zed Zed: Who doesn't like the King of Shadows.
