How does Riot view the current state of Malzahar?

Personally I hate the current state of Malzahar compared to his pre update. Currently he feels just like a suppression bot with lackluster damage until he gets a few items that gets easily migrated with just 1-2 decent MR item. Players are more concerned with getting CS than actually trading and trying to kill the enemy laner because of his pitiful damage and expensive mana costs early on. The mana gained back from E hardly does anything to address this problem and might as well not even exist. Trying to consistently CS on this champion is probably one of the hardest things to do on him now, something that wasn't a problem before the update. His high moments are almost non existent now making him lack the most important thing to every champion, FUN

Sad when an AP heavy mage is actually more dangerous when building AD instead.

The biggest issue with the new Malzahar is how they reworked him to be a push support mage. He was always strong at pushing, but now it is literally all he can do, he has such little control over his pushing, most of the time I am afraid to use my E and W together. Why? Because his passive is no longer worth anything against a gank and his damage is so shit i am basically dead if anyone engages on me.

Riot forced this pushing identity on him then took away all the tools he needed in order to do it... Which is fine because he was busted before the nerfs, but the point of reworking Malzahar was to create healthy gameplay... They have failed on everything they wanted to change about him from his healthy gameplay to his identity.

The worst part of it all is they seem content to just nerf him into garbage and leave him there until they figure out what to do with him. This is one of those rare times they should just revert a rework until they can find the time to fix him. They put all this god damn time into buffing champions that don't need it (see new PBE changes) and leave champions they have reworked into garbage in the damn garbage.
