Bot Lane, Worst Lane in Meta???

SymbolicFear··4 votes·1,306 views

The Bot Lane, during the current meta, seems to be the least influential in the game. Of course, there are exceptions, mainly with the top 4 ADC's, Vayne, Tristana, Kalista, and Jinx. If you want to see my point, try playing a match as ADC and play Lucian, Sivir, Twitch, or Ezreal against one of the top 4 mentioned above.

If you already play the weaker champions like I do, my main ADC is Lucian, how often do you lose against the top 4 ADCs? If you win lane at least 60% of the time, explain how you were able to do so.

Also, how do you think Riot should fix the bot lane to be back to it being influential in a positive way instead of "Bot lane fed, gg" which, lets be honest, happens 80% of the time on the losing team.

i despise the current state of bot lane.

Watching Jinx/trist/vayne wins games after getting stomped in lane it's so damn infuriating.

Exactly, you have ADC's like these who don't have to win Lane, yet become insanely powerful, but yet you have champions like Lucian, who can win lane and still do poorly as they are just way too weak to deal with anyone other than the super squishy champions, yet they still get deleted by the squishy assassins.

If you were correctly using your passive in between every single ability cast you should of done plenty of damage

I was using his passive between every ability. I have been playing Lucian for a while and I can use him really effectively, its just he can't do anything to the meta champions right now. He really can only do anything to the ADC on the other team. Everything else is like shooting a bear with a bb gun.

Riot has been discussing the marksmen a lot. Here's a recent summary of Rioters' discussions about the various under-powered marksmen. http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/09/red-post-collection-champ-up-marksman.html#1

It sounds like you did alright in lane however, just keep in mind there are other lanes that may have done poorly, plus the other team is now doing much better. Also those champs are all fairly tank so if you don't have a good front line you are kind of SOL.

The name of the game for marksmen is usually sustained damage. If the others on your team all die super fast then you can't really do your job.

Riot has been talking about marksmen changes. http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/09/red-post-collection-champ-up-marksman.html

I don't think ADCs as a whole are underpowered. I think a few could use some work. Quinn for example and MF.

The reason there are so many playing Vayne for example is due in part to the bruiser changes. You need an ADC that can shred tanky champs better so the meta shifts. Triatana has always been somewhat popular due to her ability to take towers easily. One think I did notice is the ADCs that you mentioned all tend to be really auto attack based champs. With BoTRK you shred more hp that way.

I know this, but Lucian on one hand, is my favorite ADC and the others bore me, so I don't play them. Lucian is considered to be one of the worst markmen in game cause he really does NO damage. He is supposed to be early game advantage, but why should a Lucian deal less damage with his combos than a Tristana? Who is a late game carry.

The role of ADC is just overly pathetic unless you play the top 4 marksmen.

Early game Tristana only has her E, Q and auto attacks to really do damage. She isn't going to get the full potential of her passive by stacking up the E on you usually. Plus she is really short range early game. Pretty sure Lucian out ranges her.

You really just have to play to the weakness. Draven for example sure he does lots of damage but he has really predictable movement patterns due to him having to catch the axes. Poke him when he goes to catch while he is CSing.

Not saying Luican couldn't use a buff as I don't play him, but I think saying ADCs as a whole are broken is a bit one sided.

Certain ADCs are going to struggle against certain team comps as is. Doesn't mean they are broken though. Just wait until preseason with the new itemization.

Tristana has almost the exact same range as Lucian early game, but since Lucian's damage nerf a few months back, he has some of the lowest damage among all ADCs, his damage is most easily comparible to that of Kalista's Auto Attacks at start. I know, Lucian is burst ADC and not AA based, and you are correct, certain ADCs struggle against different team comps, but the issue I am speaking of is Lucian almost always bound to fail against almost any other ADC and team comp.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he will always fail. He may have easy to exploit weakness that makes him easier to play against, but you still should be able to out play others. You would just be up against more of a challenge and that really just takes practice. Again I don't play him but it might be he just struggles with those ADCs that are popular right now. Mobile ones like kallista seem like they would really give him a hard time.

I mean at the end of the day if you like playing him keep playing him. You might find that eventually you have an easier time against those match ups or they fall out of style.

It's just Lucian. Lucian isn't what you call an efficient tank killer. He does damage but in this meta it's who can kill tanks the fastest win. They also introduced Zeke which is basically mandatory on support and it benefits hyper carry even more.

So ADC isn't even weak. I say it's stronger than before because of Zeke.

Although, I wasn't doing much damage at all to squishier targets either, the Tristana ended up getting fed, yet had no armor or survivability, With my full build, I got the drop and did a full combo of W, 2aa, Q, 2aa, E, 2aa, then ulting as I ran off, landing 80% of my ult shots, she still got away with 1/3 of her health. Lucian just needs a decent enough damage buff to where he can hold his own against other adc's and will not do less than 100 damage with basics on tanks.

i find that extremely hard to believe. Lucian is still good at bursting squishy target so you're lying or reallllyyyyy exaggerating.

No, the pathetic thing is im not lying or exaggerating.

This is sort of how I feel about it as well. All the popular ADCs at the moment can kill tanks pretty quickly.

Back when assassins were more popular the I can see how Lucian would be better and feel better to play.

SymbolicFear1 votes

Yeah, I honestly would prefer it if the meta wasn't just "play this champ and you will do well," It'd be nice if every champion was decent enough to play in any meta and be able to just outplay their opponent if they are skilled enough.

ive played lucian bot occasionally and i usually win lane with him. how? i dunno man...just normal adc stuff. Just farm, harrass with q occasionally. pay attention to what your support is doing...take advantage of mistakes from the opponents
